Valentine who is the resident axeman for Maroon 5 and long-time friend and contributor of John Mayer has helped Music Man produce an instrument with modern twists and a vintage vibe.
The Swamp Ash body helps produce a balanced tone that isn't too bass heavy or to too chiming either. The Swamp Ash grain is allowed to peek through the beautiful buttermilk finish. The neck and fingerboard are made from an exquisite roasted maple and plays as slick as it looks.
The JV60 TBM is fitted with an unusual pickup configuration, a single coil in the bridge fitted into a humbucker case with offset pole pieces and a humbucker in the neck. The Music Man designed pickups help replicate the distinctive bridge single coil sound of a Tele and the crunchy bright attack of a 335 with a neck humbucker. A modern touch from the JV60 is the addition of a "Push-Push" 12 dB boost useful for adding a bit more crunch quickly or cutting through when it's time to solo.
The JV60 TBM comes with Music Man locking tuners for accurate and stable tuning. The guitar is strung with Ernie Ball strings which are world renowned for their great tone and longevity. The hardtail is designed to complement the overall classic look of the guitar and is decorated tastefully with a tortoiseshell style pickguard.
