The new Ableton Push 2 puts the power of creativity at your fingertips. Designed to work seamlessly with Live you can create music as simple or as complex as your heart desires.

Standalone creation station

As the Push 2 is completely engineered by Ableton, the integration with Live is so perfect that once booted up, you won't need to even look at your laptop to create amazing beats, basslines, chords and killer synth-lines.

Big Beats

Thanks to the brilliant built-in, high resolution multicolour screen of the Push 2 you can browse, preview and load your own sounds for making beats, or access Live’s vast library of drums. The 64 velocity-sensitive pads allow you to play around with drums with incredible expression. Once you have played in your desired pattern, you can then tweak and edit any parameters for each individual pad.

Grid instrument

Each Pad on the Push 2 corresponds to pitch and as such you can play in superb harmonies without having to read up on your music theory. Scales can be selected at the toush of a button so tht you can make brilliant sequences within seconds! Quantize and other parameter changes mean you can tighten up and polish off your tune note by note.

Sample power

There are 3 seperate workflows within the Push 2 that allow you to get the best from your samples. Slice mode allows you to cut long samples and play them a slice at a time on each pad, classic mode for playing melodic samples at different pitches and OneShot mode which is ideal for drums. You can also transpose samples without re-triggering allowing you to transform melodic phrases into whole new tunes.

Let's also not deny that the Ableton Push 2 looks absolutely stunning and gives you everything you need to be at your creative best. As well as the 64 pads, you get 8 touch-sensitive encoders as well as a 17-inch touch sensitive strip complete with 31 LEDs for navigation.

To sweeten the deal, the Push 2 also comes with a copy of Ableton Live Intro so that you can unleash your music making prowess the instant you get it home.

Quick Start Guide
Posted on 11/11/2015 by Although not new to Ableton Live this is, however, my first 'Push' purchase. I have no experience of Push 1 and therefore cannot create a comparative review but from first hand experience of P2 this is an amazing creative tool. Because of P2's intuitive set up it was literally minutes between unboxing and recording my first track. The P2 oozes quality - from its beautiful layout to the feel of the buttons, the solid knobs, dazzling colours and fantastic new display. Its almost artistic as you glide around the interface, tweaking and selecting sounds - its a joy to use. There is a downloadable PDF manual which is handy to have on a reading device to aid its in use and Ableton have created some really good tuition videos on YouTube to accompany the P2. So if you are new to the P2 then there is plenty of help out there - but tinkering around is all part of the creative process. So overall I am very impressed and its a very welcome addition to my studio kit.
