Akai's legendary MPC interfaces need no introduction, having aided many artists, producers, and DJs in shaping many modern musical genres. At your disposal are 16 red backlit touch and velocity-sensitive MPC pads that offer incredible possibilities. The touch-sensitive ability of the pads extends to the edge of each pad, whilst the velocity-sensitive response of each pad allows subtle dynamic nuances to be translated to perfection. Akai's MPC pads guarantee maximum control, no matter what instrument or patch is assigned to them. The 16 pads are arranged into three banks, which allows you to configure a huge 48 user assignable functions.
The 6 rotary knob controls are also arranged into 3 banks, offering 18 user assignable 360-degree pots to play with, allowing you to control them independently, or set control over any parameter you wish with your DAW of choice. The bundled Ableton Live Lite software that is included with the Akai MPD218 is the perfect place to start, allowing you to control track data, effects, EQ - anything you wish! The Akai Pro MPC Essentials software provides a massive 9GB sound library, which includes sounds from the legendary MPC3000, as well as real-time adjustment and mapping of VST plugins. You can either use the MPC Essentials software as a standalone DAW, or integrate it into your current DAW as a VST, RTAS, or AU plugin.
The Sonivox Big Bang Cinematic Percussion and Big Bang Universal Drums includes completely customizable drum samples that can expand your sonic arsenal dramatically. Using a hand-crafted SJC Custom Drums sample source, with multi-velocity and multi-take samples that use various sticks and brushes, you have a huge range of sounds to play with.
