The Akai MPD226 Studio Pad Controller is an awesome USB controller that allows you to combine hardware and software into an intuitive and tactile interface for seamless control over your entire audio and MIDI set-up. Whether you're hitting the studio, making beats on the road, or hitting the stage, the MPD226 is an all-purpose controller that removes all obstacles to help you get the job done with the greatest of ease.
At your disposal is a selection of controls that can be mapped to work directly with your digital audio workstation (DAW) of choice, including: 16 MPC pads, 4 assignable faders, 4 assignable Q-Link knobs, and 4 assignable Q-Link buttons. The MPC pads have four available banks, which allows up to 64 assignable controls, whilst the fader, Q-link knobs and buttons have three banks, enabling 36 assignable controls. As you can see, Akai have gone to great lengths to ensure that the MPD226 is packed with incredible potential.
Since their introduction over 20 years ago, Akai's MPC controllers have aided many legendary producers and DJs in their musical careers. The touch-sensitive ability of the pads extends to the edge of each pad, whilst the velocity-sensitive response of each pad allows subtle dynamic nuances to be translated to perfection. Akai's MPC pads guarantee maximum control, no matter what instrument or patch is assigned to them. The 16 RGB (red/green/blue) illuminated pads are organised into 4 banks that allows you to create 64 assignable controls.
Four-channel faders, with corresponding Q-Link knobs and buttons offer assignable controllers that can operate independently, or be set to control any parameter you wish with your DAW of choice. The bundled Ableton Live Lite software that is included with the Akai MPD226 is the perfect place to start, allowing you to control track data, effects, EQ - anything you wish! Tactile control never felt this good.
The low-set control surface and compact dimensions allows the MPD226 to slip into any set-up discreetly, working well alongside MIDI controllers, decks, your laptop and DAW of choice, as well as outboard synths and samplers. MIDI Time Code, and Clock Sync data is controlled with precision by the MPD226 to ensure that all of your hardware and software runs harmoniously in sync.
