Nearing the top of the BA Series, the Ampeg BA-115 Bass Amplifier is packed with all of the features that the series has to offer with enough power for gigging, whilst retaining all the practice and rehearsal tools.
The second version of the model, everything has been redesigned from the ground up, with improvements across the board. The electronics and features see an upgrade, the location of the control panel has been moved to the front of the amp, for easier access, and even the shape of the amp has been changed to a wedge, which allows you to position it in an upright position or lean in back at an angle, for improved aural clarity.
With the all-new BA Series combos, we are giving bass players classic Ampeg tone and power with modern features like the Bass Scrambler overdrive and a 60-degree monitoring angle that allows for versatility in any playing situation.- Zane Williams (Ampeg Product Manager)
Big Voice, New Shape
As the Ampeg BA 115 Bass Amplifier is the second largest amp of the series it is more powerful than its smaller siblings. The 150-watts of RMS power on offer here is higher than its predecessor and double that of the BA-112. The speaker also sees an increase in size, at 15-inches, and there is the addition of a 1-inch HF tweeter, which accents highs and also comes armed with its own mute when you want a rounder, more vintage tone.
Despite its greater power output, the Ampeg BA115 is still relatively compact and lightweight, making it optimal for gigging and rehearsal. The amp measures: 24.8 x 20 x 15 (Inches) / 630 x 508 x 381 (mm), and weighs: 45 lbs / 20.4 kg. As mentioned, the shape of the chassis has changed to a wedge-shape, which offers an optional 60-degree monitoring angle, giving greater clarity to your sound.
Making the control panel easier to get to, with the Ampeg BA 112 Bass Amp’s capability to stand upright or at a 60-degree angle, it has been moved to the front of the amp. Along with the other controls on offer, this is where you’ll find the new additions; the Bass Scrambler, Ultra Hi and Ultra Lo Switches, 15dB input pad switch, and an HF Mute.
