The Ashdown AAA EVO 300W 2 x 10 Bass Amplifier Combo is a powerful, versatile amp that has everything needed for bassists to seamlessly transition between practising, recording, and gigging. With a highly impressive 300-Watt output at your disposal (and the ability to expand that further), an intuitive EQ control layout, the additional tonal versatility afforded by an app-based collaboration with Agile Partners Amp-Kit, the AAA-300-210T is an absolute bargain.
Top panel connection and controls
Across the top panel you'll find High and Low inputs, which are designed to accommodate active and passive pickup setups. The Input level knob allows you to dictate the volume of the signal from your bass guitar.
Alongside the High and Low inputs, you'll find the APPTEK socket, which allows you to connect your iPhone or iPad to the AAA-300-210T and utilise Ashdown's ABM Pre App. Unlock features from the ABM range including Sub Harmonics, Tube Drive, Compression, and a comprehensive 7-band EQ. Turn your diminuitive practise amp into a tonal behemoth! There is also an App/FX Mix knob, which allows you to blend the FX or AppTek level being fed to the amp.
Moving along, you'll find the Drive knob with a corresponding switch that allows you to turn the effect on and off - this is also compatible with a latching footswitch (sold separately). Drive enables you to infuse your output with a tube-emulated overdrive, taking your tone from subtle and gritty to rumbling, thundering overdrive.
The built-in 4-band EQ section offers Bass and Treble control, with a sweepable Mid control with Lo-Mid and Hi-Mid. The Bass setting is equipped with a Vintage/Modern Lows switch that alters the frequency response of the EQ for increased tone-shaping capabilities. Whatever style of music you perform, the AAA-300-210T can cater to your tonal needs, and then some.
For silent practise, simply plug in a pair of stereo headphone and activate the Speaker Mute switch on the rear of the amp. If you want to get an external audio device involved to jam along to your favourite tracks, or simply practise your chops for the gig, then the Line In jack has you covered. The Aux Mix knob lets you set the level of your backing track, so you can perform in perfect harmony with your favourite pieces of music.
Across the rear panel you'll find the FX Loop (Send/Return), Line In, FS-1 Drive input, DI Output, Headphone input, and External Speaker output (8 Ohms only). The FX Loop Send and Return connections allow you to set up external effects pedals free from the pre- and post-amp stages to give you greater control. The D.I. XLR output delivers a balanced signal, perfect if you want to send a feed straight into a mixing desk for recording or monitor mix during a gig. Not only that but a unique Speakon speaker output jack allows you to connect into a live PA desk where an XLR jack isn't available so that all bases are covered.
Rugged build quality
As we've come to expect from the team at Ashdown, the cabinet is built to take whatever is thrown at it. Utilising lightweight ply for the enclosure, the amp is easy to manoeuvre and with a heavy-duty carrying handle on top, can be transported from home to rehearsal space to gig venue with minimum effort. Premium buffalo Tolex adds durability to the outer casing. Paired with a distinctive red grill, the amp achieves a striking aesthetic.

It also looks cool and sounds great as well.
I love using the AmpKit features on my phone with it too!
