However, despite its diminutive size, the RM-500 EVO II delivers a clear 500-Watt output with a range of controls that allows you to attenuate the intuitive EQ, Compression, and Drive sections. The upgraded power section also features a useful mute button, which changes the classic Ashdown Engineering VU meter from orange to blue - perfect for setting the mood between sets.
Control at your fingertips
The input section features Passive and Active inputs to suit both passive and active-powered bass pickups. Once you've adjusted the input signal level to suit your instrument and rig setup, there are a plethora of knobs and dials at your disposal.
The five-band EQ pots allow you to sculpt your sound with incredible precision, with a useful Shape switch that instantly dials in a classic Ashdown tone setting, borrowed directly from the outstanding Ashdown ABM series.
The single-knob Compression control is a stroke of genius, allowing warmth and depth to be added to your tone with ease. Give your bass the power and presence it deserves to fill out any mix beautifully.
The Overdrive and Sub controls allow you to inject tube-emulated overdrive into you bass sound, pushing it into a delightfully warm zone and beyond into aggressive distortion. Filling out the low-end is the Sub-Harmonic generator, which allows you to dial in a robust sub-octave that - like the overdrive - is footswitchable and can be kicked in and out whenever you wish.
The Ashdown Rootmaster RM-500-EVO II Bass Guitar Amplifier Head is equipped with a hot of connectivity options that are perfect for both live and studio work. For those who wish to integrate outboard effects units, there are dedicated FX Send and Return jacks along the rear panel.
