Dawsons Liverpool – Wondrous Place
The new, huge Dawsons Liverpool store is opening its doors tomorrow!
‘Liverpool – Wondrous Place’. Those words were chosen as the title for an excellent book about Liverpool’s musical history, written by Paul Du Noyer. The title was a reference to a song by hugely influential Liverpool singer-songwriter, Billy Fury (arguably the first true British Rock ‘n’ Roll star).
When reviewed upon launch, one writer stated ‘At last! – The book that Liverpool (and its music) deserves.’ Now, in similar fashion, the city of Liverpool has the musical instrument and equipment store that it deserves. The new, hugely expanded Dawsons Liverpool store is set to open its doors for the first time tomorrow! (*19th January 2013)
The new location on Williamson Street brings the store to a more central city centre location. The main reason for the move, however, is for more space. The previous store had outgrown its premises- it simply didn’t have the room to stock everything that customers were asking for.
The new Dawsons Liverpool is several times the size of the previous store, spread across two floors, and wait until you see how the guys have filled all of that extra space…
Martin Heritage Centre, Gibson 5 star acoustic centre, Yamaha Homeland, Roland Planet…
Even with the greatest effort, and the best ‘Tetris’ shape packing skills, with limited space, there is only so much you can keep in stock in a store. Visitors to Dawsons Liverpool at Ranelagh Street will know this. The walls practically groaned under the strain, with every available shelf and wall crammed with gear.
With huge amounts of space now available, the team have added even more lines, even more brands and even more demo facilities. Visitors can look forward to a full compliment of Martin guitars, due to the stores new status as a Martin heritage centre. It’s also now a Gibson 5-star acoustic centre, too.
The piano department now features a Yamaha Homeworld, which provides just about all of Yamaha’s digital piano and keyboard products for customers to try. The Roland Planet is even bigger, too, so you’ll have even more Roland and Boss products to try.
Other new brands include Schertler, AER, Hofner, Musicman and many more.
DJ Technology Area
The new, huge, Dawsons Liverpool also caters far more comprehensively for the DJ. A full range of DJ gear from Pioneer, Native Instruments, Numark and Novation are on display and available to try. Plus, a specialist member of staff will be on hand to help and guide you through our range.
There is even more crammed into the new store that I can’t cram into this article. The emphasis of the store is very much on providing the best possible environment for customers to come and experience musical equipment, however. So, if you want to see Liverpool’s greatest music shop in its new, enormous home, swing by the store tomorrow!
