A fresh start with a promising future…
Today the next chapter in the Dawsons Music story begins. Amid a turbulent time for retailers, both on the high street and online, rises a company renewed with a focus on providing for the complex needs of musicians throughout their career and musical journey.
A New Chapter
The merger between Dawsons Music and Alan Gregory Music & Musical Instruments marries two respected partners within the MI community. Steeped in history and boasting over 160 years of providing outstanding service to musicians, each company brings expertise that covers music education, musical instrument sales and repairs, professional audio equipment services, and a wealth of knowledge in supplying exemplary customer service.
Expanding their offering of instruments to covers everything from acoustic guitar to the xylophone, touching upon every conceivable musical genre and taste, the merging of Dawsons Music and Alan Gregory aims to deliver products and services that encapsulate the needs and requirements of today’s artists whether they are classical musicians, DJs, rockers, songwriters, producers or all of the above.
Leading the company into the next phase is new owner Andrew M. Oliver, a graduate of Royal Northern College of Music and enthusiastic tuba player with two decades of experience in leading Alan Gregory Music. As an accomplished musician and seasoned retail professional, Oliver has a unique understanding of the MI industry from both sides and is keen to utilise that innate appreciation to re-establish Dawsons Music as a force to be reckoned with.
In a word, the future is “positive”. In fact, we have quite a few plans that will make the most of our collective expertise. For a start, a new website is coming your way, which will revolutionise our eCommerce platform to improve the customer journey significantly. You’ll be able to find what you want, when you want, and have it delivered how you want.
Our already impressive education team will expand to provide greater support to educators and schools, whilst delivering industry-leading programmes designed to promote mental health awareness the benefits that music can offer.
We hope that you will continue to join us on your journey and share in exciting times ahead.
