The Farida M2-E Acoustic Guitar updates the acclaimed parlour model with an onboard preamp
The Farida M2-E Parlour Acoustic Guitar is an update to the previous M2-NS model. This guitar was a widely acclaimed model, Guitarist magazine describing it as ‘a big-hearted, vibrant-sounding parlour that’s an absolute snip’. We couldn’t agree more. In the spirit of evolution, however, Farida has updated this model. And rather than drastically change it, their craftsman have left the underlying design of the guitar the same, and added an onboard pre-amp. Hey, if it isn’t broke…
Solid cedar top and mahogany back and sides
The Farida M2-E retains the tonewoods and construction that made the original an award winner. A solid cedar top is paired with mahogany back and sides on the parlour-sized body. The neck is a slim, mahogany design, with a rosewood fingerboard. The combination of cedar and mahogany results in warm and full tone which belies its small size.
Despite this, the M2-E still remains focused and detailed in the upper frequency ranges. One of the advantages of cedar as a tonewood is that it often has a shorter ‘break-in’ period than, say, spruce, before it reaches its full sonic potential.
The major addition to the Farida M2-E is the onboard electronics. The guitar is now equipped with a Fishman Isys T preamp, which includes a tuner, phase control and contour tone-shaping control. This addition makes the M2-E a great acoustic guitar for those who would like to perform with it; particularly those who like to play in picking styles.
Here’s the low-down on the M2-E:
- Parlour style – small bodied, with the neck joining the body at the 12th fret
- Solid cedar top – warm, dark tone, with short ‘break-in’ time
- Mahogany back and sides
- On-board preamp – Fishman Isys T with tuner, phase and contour controls
- Update to the highly acclaimed M2-NS
- Complete with hard case
The Farida M2-E is in stock right now.
