Industry mag rates city-centre store 5 out of 5 in mystery shop visit

Dawsons Manchester

Recognition is wonderful when it comes, which is why we’re celebrating this week after our Manchester city centre store was awarded top marks by a respected trade magazine.

MI Pro, the magazine written specifically for the musical instrument trade, conducted a mystery shop visit to Dawsons Manchester, on Portland Street, and it looks like the mag liked what it saw, giving us five out of five in its official write-up. Not bad at all!

The magazine praised the appearance of the store and helpfulness (and patience!) of the team there, along with noting the breadth of our range of musical instruments and equipment.

It comes at an important time for the store; we’re in the process of significantly upgrading its layout, meaning an even wider range and more choice for you. Not only that, we’ve completely refurbished our DJ area and will be stocking more of the top brands you want, like Pioneer, Numark and Native Instruments.

Mark Taylor, managing director of Dawsons, said: “The purpose of this work is to reflect the changing requirements of our customers. Home recording is becoming more commonplace for musicians, whether this be bands looking to save money in lieu of studio costs or those just starting out on the road of performance. The expanded Hi-Tech area will also give customers a broader range of recording equipment to choose from, with more gear set up and ready for you to demo.

“In addition, we have seen remarkable growth in the demand for quality DJ gear, and the newly refurbished DJ area promises to be the place to go in Manchester for DJs.”

The new-look downstairs area will be formally launched at the start of October, so check back for more updates as we get ever closer to an exciting new era at our Manchester store.
