The Boss BB-1X Bass Driver Guitar Effects Pedal enables you to give your guitar's natural timbre, the lift required to ensure that your tone is delivered with exceptional clarity. It can be used in the same way as a conventional stompbox - dropping in and out during certain musical passages for the sake of effect -, but it can also be used in a similar manner of a DI or a preamp. You can retain the timbre of your bass whilst adding some extra juice.
Simple Control Layout
As we've come to expect from the team at Boss, the control layout is simple yet highly effective, enabling you to get the tone you're after with ease, so you can concentrate on rocking out. There are five pots that can be used to control: Level; Blend; Low; High; Drive. The Level control does just that, and allows you to dictate how loud you want the output signal from the pedal to be. The Blend pot controls how much the dry (guitar input) and wet (effect's influence) signals are blended together. The Low and High signals allow you to shape the low and high frequencies, and influence your bass' tone, without diminishing the rich tonality of your instrument. The Drive control allows you to add some real grind and overdrive into your signal, for an over-the-top and exaggerated vibe.
The BB-1X gives every bassist the chance to completely change the timbre and response of their instrument. Everything from a punchy, tight sound to a thickly, sweet and fat tone is easily achievable. If you fancy getting into some heavy rock and metal-style distortion, simply crank up the Drive control and let it rip.
Live Sound and Studio Recording Benefits
Whether you're taking to the stage, or hitting the studio, it is essential that your tone is delivered with the utmost clarity. With two outputs available, you can send a feed from the pedal directly to your amp, and a balanced feed directly to the monitor mix on the PA or an input channel on the studio mixing desk. On stage, you can rest assured that sound you're hearing through your monitor is exactly how you sound to the crowd. In the studio, you can take advantage of using either a sole signal feed, or record an amp input and the pedal input, for signal processing later on.
Boss know a thing or two about crafting pedals that not only hold their own as standalone products, but also complement other pedals in your rig beautifully. The BB-1X is no exception, and whatever your current pedal setup is like, every bassist's rig should have a Boss BB-1X Bass Driver Guitar Effects Pedal.
