The BOSS DD-3T Digital Delay Guitar Effects Pedal is an update for the ever-present pedalboard staple, the DD-3 Digital Delay. Originally created in 1986, it's gotten universal acclaim for its incredible sound and logical operation and now it comes with enhanced functionality whilst retaining the classic sound and layout of the original.
The BOSS DD-3T has a warm and round delay sound, identical to the original DD-3 to get you that classic delay sound beloved by players the world over. The sound circuitry and controls are identical to the original pedal so you can be assured of the classic sound used on countless hit records for over three decades.
The focal point of the BOSS DD-3T is the tap tempo feature which is perfect for creating rhythmic delay effects a la The Edge and many others. With tap input up to 800ms of delay time is available and the Mode knob sets the subdivision, with a quarter-note triplet, dotted eighth note or quarter note on hand to supplement your soundscapes. In delay mode, you hold the pedal switch for two seconds to toggle between bypass and tap operation and if you need on-demand tap control you can connect an external footswitch.
Wet / Dry
The DD-3T has a direct output jack that's been repositioned to make connections easier. When you plug into the direct out the main out becomes delay only, letting you send wet and dry signals to different amps for huge sounds. If you have a parallel effects loop you can connect a dummy plug to the direct out to mute the dry sound for effect only sonic sculpting.
The Hold feature was part of the original DD-3 and DD-2 pedals, letting you capture a sound up to 800ms long, play it continuously and then jam over the top, the forefather of the live style of looping that helped spawn the modern wave of loopers. This features on the DD-3T as well, renamed as 'Short-Loop' to reflect how it's used.
The BOSS DD-3T Digital Delay Guitar Effects Pedal gives a classic stompbox an update, marrying vintage sound with modern functionality whilst retaining all the aesthetic of a stone-cold classic.
