The Boss DD-7 digital delay compact guitar effects pedal brings together the very best of Boss’ delay pedal back-catalogue, expands and improves upon the already awesome designs, and delivers an exceptional little box that produces some truly magical results. The pedal has more expressive potential than previous iterations with the Modulation Delay & Analog Delay modes, as well as the option to control effects with an external pedal, longer delay time than before and tonnes more options to boot.
Delay Time & New Modes
The Boss DD-7 Digital Delay Pedal now offers 6.4 seconds of delay, and a Hold mode that gives you up to 40 seconds of recording to create sound-on-sound loops. Whether you’re a solo performer or play as part of a band or ensemble, creating lush textures and building an impressive wall of sound has never been easier. The aforementioned Modulation Delay gives you a chorus-type sound, while the Analog Delay offers a simulation of the characteristically warm Boss DM-2.
The Boss DD7 Digital Delay Guitar Pedal gives you the option of adding an external footswitch to control Tap tempo, and an Expression pedal to control delay time, feedback, and effect level on the fly. The level of real-time creative control offered by these two additional options is astonishing, effectively giving guitarists the ability to becoming a veritable one-man band.
With outputs for two amps the Boss DD-7 Digital Delay effects pedal gives you stereo sound to add extra depth & a spatial sweep effect, with true stereo panning. Alternatively, you can split the outputs to have dry and wet signals that can be fed into separate inputs (e.g. amplifiers), which can make life much simpler when it comes to recording and gigging. For example, you can create a dry signal loop as a backing track through one amplifier, and then create a subtly delayed signal into an amplifier that is overdriven to solo over the backing signal.
Whether you’re just starting out on your musical journey, or have many years of experienced under your belt, Boss compact pedals are built to last and are ever-reliable pieces of kit. Introducing delay into your signal chain can, arguably, change your tone from sounding like that of a mere mortal to that of a Guitar God! The Boss DD-7 Digital Delay compact guitar effects pedal is a truly awesome piece of kit that makes a fantastic addition to every guitarist’s pedal board.
