The BOSS MD-500 Digital Modulation Guitar Effects Pedal deliver supreme control with regard to any and every kind of modulation effect you can think of. With a wealth of algorithms, programming options, and adjustability at your disposal, you'll wonder how your pedalboard every got by without one of these beauties in your setup.

Modulation modes

Packed within the same pedalboard-friendly, gig-ready chassis as the DD-500 and RV-500, the MD-500 boasts 28 algorithms with extensive parameter programming at your fingertips. Utilising their expertise to perfection, every algorithm has been developed specifically for this pedal. At your disposal are classics such as: chorus, vibrato, flanger, phaser, tremolo, rotary, classic vibe, and ring mod. As well as this you'll find Auto wah and touch wah effects. Not only that, but BOSS original FX like Slicer and Overtone expand your tonal arsenal further. Slicer fans will welcome the ability to program custom patterns, an additional feature to the original SL-20 Slicer pedal. The MD-500’s spot-on recreation of Roland’s revered Dimension D from the 1980s, allows you to take advantage of a legendary studio rack effect.

Powerful DSP

The MD-500 is home to an unbelievably powerful DSP engine, which runs BOSS' advanced new Prime algorithms. As noted above, the deep editing capabilities enhance expression, extend tonal potential, and put total control within easy reach. Some effects even include new parameters to BOSS, including the "Bell" and "Sweetness" setting in the new Prime Chorus algorithm.

Unrivalled sound quality

Boasting 32-bit/96 kHz AD/DA, all internal processing is 32-bit floating point and runs at a 96-kHz sampling rate as well. Putting it simply, the MD-500 blows the socks off many high-end digital processors seen in pro studios. With true-bypass/buffered bypass being switchable, you can dictate exactly how you want to process your dry tone to suit your setup.

Advanced features

The MD-500 doesn't just allow you to run one exquisite effect at a time. Thanks to A/B Simul mode, you can run two patches at once, with a choice of output options including series, parallel, and separating each effect to different outputs. The Insert Loop function enables modulation effects to be inserted before/after/around specific pedals. In A/B Simul mode, you can even position the loop between two different mod effects - BOSS have quite literally thought of every possible scenario.

Easy operation

The MD-500 is equipped with a large LCD that give you ready visual access to all pertinent information. Editing parameters is delightfully simple, and the top panel controls allow you to make adjustments on-the-fly. Not only that, but via USB, you can connect with the free MD-500 Editor/Librarian on your computer for remote editing, patch backup, and more.

With the Boss MD-500 Digital Modulation Guitar Effects Pedal, you're not just getting a powerful standalone unit, but something that can be used alongside more advanced setups thanks to the inclusion of MIDI In/Out and USB. It can even be used with your favourite DAW for MIDI control.
