Details
The latest in a healthy line of multi-effects pedals, the Boss ME-80 Guitar Multiple Effects takes everything you loved about the ME-70, whilst raising its specs and adding some of the features from the GT-100 that many lust after. At your fingertips is an incredible amount of tone shaping power, yet the functionality and layout is as simple to use as a stompbox.
Cosm Technology
The Boss ME80 Guitar Multiple Effects Pedal benefits from a highly significant update, the inclusion of Boss' flagship COSM technology - derived from the technology behind the much coveted Boss GT100 -, giving you a great selection of realistic amps that replicate some of the finest models ever released. Alongside the Preamp selection is an EQ/FX2 section, and a Reverb section, which moves through Room, Hall and Spring from a single dial, allowing you to breathe space and depth into your signal with ease.
The Boss ME 80 effects are categorised into Comp/FX1, OD/DS, MOD and DELAY sections, along with an additional section for pedal effects. These top quality effects include classic Boss stomps and some the latest MDP effects. Thanks to the new layout, it’s easy to use an effect from each of the eight categories simultaneously. The intuitive footswitch interface is comprised of eight multifunction pedals and an expression pedal. The Delay section has a phrase loop function with a massive 38 seconds of recording.
Included software
Along with being an excellent tool for live sets, the Boss ME-80 Guitar Multiple Effects Pedal will also keep producers happy, thanks to the free Boss Tone Studio software, which allows deep editing when you hook up to a computer. This also gives you a connection to the Boss Tone Central website, a hub that includes gig-ready patches and guitar content.
Short of making the leap to a GT-100, the Boss ME-80 has more than enough power under the hood to satisfy the needs of every guitarist. Not only that, but the layout has enough versatility and customisability to keep even the most compulsive of knob twiddlers happy.
