The latest in a healthy line of multi-effects pedals, the Boss ME-80 Guitar Multiple Effects takes everything you loved about the ME-70, whilst raising its specs and adding some of the features from the GT-100 that many lust after. At your fingertips is an incredible amount of tone shaping power, yet the functionality and layout is as simple to use as a stompbox.

Cosm Technology

The Boss ME80 Guitar Multiple Effects Pedal benefits from a highly significant update, the inclusion of Boss' flagship COSM technology - derived from the technology behind the much coveted Boss GT100 -, giving you a great selection of realistic amps that replicate some of the finest models ever released. Alongside the Preamp selection is an EQ/FX2 section, and a Reverb section, which moves through Room, Hall and Spring from a single dial, allowing you to breathe space and depth into your signal with ease.

The Boss ME 80 effects are categorised into Comp/FX1, OD/DS, MOD and DELAY sections, along with an additional section for pedal effects. These top quality effects include classic Boss stomps and some the latest MDP effects. Thanks to the new layout, it’s easy to use an effect from each of the eight categories simultaneously. The intuitive footswitch interface is comprised of eight multifunction pedals and an expression pedal. The Delay section has a phrase loop function with a massive 38 seconds of recording.

Included software

Along with being an excellent tool for live sets, the Boss ME-80 Guitar Multiple Effects Pedal will also keep producers happy, thanks to the free Boss Tone Studio software, which allows deep editing when you hook up to a computer. This also gives you a connection to the Boss Tone Central website, a hub that includes gig-ready patches and guitar content.

Short of making the leap to a GT-100, the Boss ME-80 has more than enough power under the hood to satisfy the needs of every guitarist. Not only that, but the layout has enough versatility and customisability to keep even the most compulsive of knob twiddlers happy.

Posted on 12/06/2014 by I have been searching for what seems like forever, for a pedal board that combines great sound quality with value for money and at last I've found it in the me80. This board rocks and is so easy to use. There are some great rockin' sounds on this as well as superb clean tones for a more laid back bluesy feel. I'm a bit of a techno phobe but I'm finding this so easy to get the sounds I want and it delivers on every front. I can't recommend this enough for guitar players who just want to set up, turn their gear on and rock out. This makes me wanna play and inspires you to be creative. I hope others find this is the board for you too!
Posted on 13/03/2014 by I upgraded from the boss ME50 to this board and must say I am amazed at this product, the use of the CTL peddle is a great feature that the ME50 didn't have, it effectively lets you have 8 patches on one bank, it has a 38 second phrase looper which you can multi-track (overdub) with other recordings, perfect for recording a rhythm track to solo over. The double peddles are really easy to use, when I picked it up I was worried that in pressing one of the top peddles I would hit one of the bottom ones as well but that's not the case, its an all over quality peddle, however I did run into one very slight problem, there was no USB cable with it, luckily I had one that it required so this wasn't a problem the problem occurred when trying to plug the USB into the peddle as the screw under the USB port prevented the cable going in as there is a square panel on the USB end of the cable which tends to be on that type of cable, I had to trim some of the square panel off to accommodate the screw, the software from boss is still in the early stages so there are a few bugs but that will clear up soon, highly recommend this product, get down to Dawsons give it a test run and I'm sure you will agree.
