The BOSS RC-1 Loop Station Stompbox makes the joy of looping even easier to control than ever before. Following on from the legacy set out by the RC-20's introduction back in 2001, this little beauty packs an incredible amount of power into a stompbox design that will fit sweetly into any studio/stage setup.

Solid Boss Enclosure Design

As you'd expect from the experts at BOSS, the RC-1 is built like a tank, designed to take all the abuse you can throw at it during even the most frenetic of performances. Though the form factor may be more compact than that of its predecessors, do not underestimate the versatility and power that lies within this unit. You can record, playback, overdub and undo/redo loops - totally controllable using the single pedal arrangement.

Huge Recording Potential

You'll never be short of recording time, BOSS has ensured that the RC-1 can store up to a maximum of an incredible 12 minutes, more than enough time to create some masterful sounds. Whether you're looking to set up some jams to practise along with, create lush layered soundscapes, build up a monstrous wall of sound, or infuse a delicate palette of tonal textures, the RC-1 has more than enough staying power to help you achieve your looping dreams.

Easy To Read Display

The top panel has a Level control knob to attenuate the signal level in your pedal chain. There is also a new loop indicator, which consists of a 24-segment LED laid out in a circular pattern. This gives an easy to read and readily accessible visual cues that indicates what status is selected including Rec/Overdub/Play modes - making life much easier onstage or in dark venues.

Mono/Stereo Capabilities

Connectivity comes in the form of stereo in/out jacks, which can be used with stereo effects and amplifiers. Additionally, they allow you to connect stereo instruments like synthesizers. As with all BOSS stompboxes, the RC-1 can run on a 9V battery or AC power supply. The battery option makes it great for those who demand portability.

The optional FS-7 footswitch allows you to take the functionality of the RC-1 even further. Pressing the “A” switch will stop the Rec/Overdub/Play mode. Hold down the “A” switch for two seconds or longer to erase the phrase. By pressing the “B” switch, you can easily undo or redo your phrase. Simple and effective!

Whether you’re new to looping, or a seasoned looper, the new BOSS RC-1 Loop Station is easy to use, slots into any setup thanks to its compact design, is incredibly powerful, and most of all, makes making looping fun!

Posted on 08/01/2016 by Pedal works exactly as it should. Very basic for someone like me who just wanted to get into looping it's been great, easy to use and no problems with it. The display light is also surprisingly helpful for beginners like me who aren't used to good rhythm being a necessity, so not just the gimmick I've seen some online make it out to be.
Posted on 26/07/2015 by The RC-1 is a perfect looper for any beginner however it is very limited to what it can do. A better choice would be the RC-3 or RC-30 for someone who wants to do more with looping but for someone starting off, its a really great pedal!
