Before being acquired by Fender in 1965, Squier started life in 1890 as a manufacturer of strings for violins, banjos, and guitars. However, in 1975 Squier was wrapped up as Fender already had a successful string manufacturing arm. But a brand turnaround in 1982 meant that Fender fired up the Squier brand once again to produce affordable renditions of their coveted USA-built models.

Over the years some has seen Squier as an entry point for those who want a Fender without the heftier price tag. Nowadays, Squier models are treated with significantly greater respect thanks to some exceptional additions to its stable.

The Affinity Series Stratocaster is one of the best value models on the market, offering a range of classic Strat features and superb build quality at a price that is attainable for everyone. Not exclusive to electric guitars, the Affinity Series Precision Bass PJ offers the coveted double-cutaway game-changing Precision Bass in all its glory. You can even get it as a pack complete with bass amplifier, gig bag, cable and strap.

Then there are the Classic Vibe series models, which resurrect classic appointments and paint jobs of iconic models of yesteryear with the modern integrity and performance we’ve come to expect. The Classic Vibe ’70s Telecaster Custom - a favourite of Keith Richards - boasts Fender-Designed alnico single-coil and Wide Range humbucking pickups, period-correct paint job and headstock markings, and original hardware for a truly special playing experience.

Then there’s signature models such as the J Mascis Jazzmaster and Jim Root Tele’, squeezing artist-approved appointments into guitars that are always snapped up as soon as they are released.
