The Casio CDP-130 Stage Piano in a smart black finish is an excellent choice for players that wish to achieve a realistic piano feel and tone whilst maintaining portability. Powered by Casio's AHL sound source, you can be assured of a great sounding piano along with other built-in instruments, effects, MIDI connectivity and more.
Hammer action keyboard
The keyboard element of the CDP-130 comes with scaled hammer-action technology that feels much more like a grand piano than a spring-based mechanism. As the name suggests the keyboard has a realistically firm feeling that starts out relatively heavy at the bottom and gradually gets lighter as you get to the top notes, just like the keys on a grand piano.
Tones and effects
The Casio CDP-130 packs in a superb sounding grand piano tone alongside 9 other instruments to help you deliver rich performances. 2 sounds can also be layer together thanks to the CDP-130's ability to play 48 notes simultaneously at any one time (48-note polyphony).
To add some additional polish to your performance you can add reverb which delivers spacious auditory projection to mimic playing in a large hall. The CDP-130 even has a dedicated "Hall" button so that you can mimic the warm and rich acoustics of a concert hall at the push of a single button. A chorus effect is also to hand to add some "shimmer" to the instruments.
Configure and connect
The Casio CDP-130 is extremely user-friendly and does away with elements that could get in the way of your performance and practice. The top panel gives you quick access to all aspects of the piano without the need for editing menus. Likewise, the connectivity is clean and clever. MIDI and USB are on hand for connection to a computer or other MIDI equipment whilst a single headphone out makes it possible for silent practice when needed.
The Casio CDP-130 Stage Piano is ideal for beginners looking for the fully weighted piano experience or for more accomplished players that would like a fuss-free digital piano on which to practice or perform. Casio have also included £49 worth of free lessons over at their music academy to get you started!
