The Charvel Pro-Mod DK24 HH HT M Ash Electric Guitar in Charcoal Gray is perfect for hard rockers and metallers who want a shred machine that allows them to cruise through performances in style. The understated finish belies the ferocious power that this guitar is capable of. If you want a road-ready touring partner, then look no further than this little beauty.
Pro-Mod Dinky style
The Pro-Mod DK24 adheres to the diminuitive Dinky body shape, a favourite amongst those who like to let loose on stage. The shapely curves are perfectly formed to allow your hands full access to the body and neck in their entirety. The slender depth pairs with the bevelled edges to ensure a snug resting position to give your picking arm freedom of movement. The deep double-cutaways enable your fretting hand to reach the highest frets with ease.
The body is built using ash, which produces a weighty midrange tone with pronounced highs, and a tight low-end energy. The sustain is impressive, and the Seymour Duncan humbuckers make the most of its enviable sustain. Finished in charcoal gray, the body has been treated to a satin coating to ensure a smooth feel during the most energetic of performances.
Reinforced neck design
Joined to the body via a solid bolt-on construction, is a two-piece maple neck that hand-rubbed with urethane gel for lightning fast playing speed. Thanks to the speed neck profile, your hand can glide along efficiently as you soar through licks and riffs. Changes in humidity and temperature can have a devastating effect on a guitar's neck. Therefore, Charvel have employed graphite rod reinforcement to prevent such thing from affecting your Pro-Mod DK4.
Married to the neck is a maple fingerboard, which is home to 24 jumbo frets for your fingers to roam around in. The fingerboard benefits from Charvel's compound radius design, which extends from a rounder 12-inches at the nut to a flatter 16-inches at the heel. The result is a more "natural" playing feel that allows your fingers to glide along effortlessly. The heel-mounted spoke wheel allows the truss rod to be tweaked easily, should the need arise.
Seymour Duncan pickup partnership
A high-performance design requires a high-powered engine, which is why the Charvel Pro-Mod DK24 is equipped with a pair of Seymour Duncan humbuckers. You'll find a Full Shred SH-10B in the bridge that offers an explosive sonic assault. In the neck there is the Jazz SH-2N that cleans up beautifully to offer glassy highs that are full of character. Thanks to the No-Load tone control, when you dial it up to 10, it removes itself from the output to allow the guitar to shine through in all its glory.
The body is home to Charvel's HT6 string-through-body hardtail bridge, which creates a seamless connection between the strings and body to optimise sustain. Adjustment is nice and easy, allowing you to stay on top of intonation, which is enforced during performances. The headstock is home to Charvel sealed die-cast locking tuning machines, so that once you set your desired tuning, nothing will shift it.
