The Charvel Pro Mod San Dimas Style 1 HH FR Ash Electric Guitar is an awesome model that benefits from Charvel's legacy of pioneering design in high-performance guitars. The fast playing feel of the San Dimas is ideal for those who like to perform at lightspeed, and in total freedom.
San Dimas style
The San Dimas is an ergonomically-designed masterpiece, with subtly executed curves that are designed to establish a figure-hugging feel. Whether you're seated or standing, wearing the San Dimas high or low, remaining rooted to the spot or running around on stage, this lightweight beauty always feels just right. The curved lower bout creates a comfortable resting position for the picking arm, whilst the deep double-cutaways give your fretting hand access to each and every fret.
The body is crafted using ash, which is a lightweight yet tonally enthusiastic tonewood that offers the best of both worlds. Producing a confident midrange energy that is flanked by subtle lows and sweet highs, ash is perfect for those who want a tone that cuts through the mix. The paintwork is treated to a resilient satin finish, which allows the guitar to age gracefully whilst preventing unwanted stickiness or tackiness from impeding movement.
Reinforced neck design
Fitted to the body is a solid bolt-on maple neck, which is shaped to the speed profile that allows it to slot comfortably into the hand. Charvel appreciate that all necks are susceptible to minor changes in humidity and temperature. Therefore, they employ graphite rod reinforcement to prevent unwanted twisting or warping from marring the neck's playability over time. Rolled edges create that coveted 'played-in feel' for an instant familiarity from the first moment that you pick up the San Dimas. The hand-rubbed urethane gel coating acts in the same way as the satin on the body, preventing unwanted stickiness from building up that would otherwise slow your fretting hand.
Married to the neck is an aged ebony fingerboard, which is offer sweet sounding notes that are warmer than other woods. Adorned with dot position inlays to guide your way, you can easily navigate the fingerboard from nut to heel. Charvel's compound radius extends from a rounder 12-inches at the nut to a flatter 16-inches at the heel, resulting in a natural feel from the 1st to the 22nd fret.
Seymour Duncan humbuckers
The San Dimas is home to a pair of powerful Seymour Duncan humbuckers, with a JB TB-4 in the bridge and a '59 SH-1N in the neck. The JB is a crisp and clear pickup that brings that gives your rhythm and lead chops a sparkling clarity. The '59 is a fat and juicy tone monster that saturates each note with inspired articulation and harmonic balance.
The volume control offers push/pull coil split capabilities to extend the tonal arsenal available to you even further. The No-Load tone control responds normally from position 1 through 9, and removes itself from the circuit at position 10 to allow the natural tone of the guitar to shine through in all its glory.
The body is home to a Floyd Rose tremolo, which supports each string to optimise intonation and sustain, and allows you to perform mesmerising vibrato with pin-point accuracy. allows you to dive and wail without sending your tuning out of whack. At the top of the neck, Charvel sealed die-cast tuners and the Floyd Rose nut ensure that tuning is upheld meticulously throughout the most daring of performances.
