San Dimas body
The Charvel San Dimas is built with speed at its core. If you're the type of guitarists who craves freedom of movement, then you're going to love this guitar. The super slim depth is paired with curvy body that sits snugly whether you wear it high or low. The bevelled edges remove any obstacles from your arms' path, so that you can reach every fret and string with ease. The deep double-cutaway allows your fretting hand to up to the highest frets without the need to overstretch, putting everything within easy reach.
Built using ash, the San Dimas retains a light feel in the hands. Ash is noted for its warm mid-range presence, with a graceful high-end energy and understated low-end. The natural finish of the ash is displayed for all to see, and is protected by a subtle layer of satin to prevent unwanted stickiness or tackiness form affecting your performance.
Reinforced neck design
Joined to the body is a solid bolt-on maple neck, which is reinforced using graphite rods to prevent buckling or twisting over time. Shaped to the speed profile, the neck is designed to enhance playability, with rolled edges that create that coveted 'played-in feel'. The hand-rubbed urethane gel coating acts in the same way as the satin on the body, preventing unwanted stickiness from building up that would otherwise slow your fretting hand.
Married to the neck is an aged ebony fingerboard, which is offer sweet sounding notes that are warmer than other woods. Adorned with dot position inlays to guide your way, you can easily navigate the fingerboard from nut to heel. Charvel's compound radius extends from a rounder 12-inches at the nut to a flatter 16-inches at the heel. The result is a natural playing position for the fretting hand from the 1st to the 22nd fret, whilst rolled fingerboard edges ensures seamless transitions between frets.
Seymour Duncan satisfaction
The San Dimas is home to a pair of powerful Seymour Duncan humbuckers, with a JB TB-4 in the bridge and a '59 SH-1N in the neck. The JB is a crisp and clear pickup that brings that gives your rhythm and lead chops a sparkling clarity. The '59 is a fat and juicy tone monster that saturates each note with inspired articulation and harmonic balance.
The volume control offers push/pull coil split capabilities to extend the tonal arsenal available to you even further. The No-Load tone control responds normally from position 1 through 9, and removes itself from the circuit at position 10 to allow the natural tone of the guitar to shine through in all its glory.
The body is home to Charvel's HT6 6-string hardtail with strings-through-body bridge, which anchors each string securely to instil a feeling of confidence throughout every performance. The headstock is fitted with Charvel sealed die-cast locking tuners to retain a steadfast support for precise tuning throughout. The knurled flat top control knobs prevent slippage whilst adjusting prevent unwanted fluctuations in volume or tone.
