Updated on 31st March 2020
At one of the most difficult times that we have witnessed for generations, the safety and wellbeing of our staff, customers and anyone affected by COVID-19 is of paramount importance to Dawsons Music.
While information is rapidly changing and being updated know that we'll keep this page up to date with the latest information regarding the Coronavirus and the implications for Dawsons Music's staff and customers.
Will my Dawsons order be impacted?
At present all orders are being processed and dispatched in the normal fashion. The delivery times are remaining the same for now (which varies dependant on your location). When or if any changes occur to our supply chain we will update this page and make announcements via our social media accounts. As ever please don't hesitate to contact us via our customer service team or social media accounts.
Like everyone out there we have all been affected by COVID-19 and the restrictions it has brought about and as such have some staff working from home and self-isolating in accordance with government and NHS advice. There is a strong likelihood of further restrictions to both retailers and couriers so please be vigilant and monitor both this page and Dawsons Music social media accounts for updates.
Update 23.03.2020: Some orders are usually dispatched from our stores. Since the government's guidance on closing retail shops on the 23rd March, this has become increasingly more difficult to manage so you may experience a delay on your order. Please bear with us whilst we assess the situation. For more delivery information click here.
Update 31.03.2020: In response to queries that we have received from our customers, we’d like to keep you up to date with where we’re at during this difficult time. Some of you may have noticed that the availability of certain stock across our website is more limited than you would usually expect. This is because ‘ taken the decision to reduce the number of available lines via our online store.
Our reasons for doing so are to support our partners throughout our supply chain, e.g. logistics, warehousing and distribution. At this current time, we feel that the best option is to help minimise risk by minimising capacity. Although we appreciate that this will inconvenience some, we want to take steps to play our part in safeguarding our partners whilst serving our customers.
You will still be able to place orders via our online store, and any orders placed recently are being fulfilled. However, we are experiencing difficulties in achieving our standard delivery times due to the knock-on effect of COVID-19. We hope that you will bear with us, and rest assured that our customer service colleagues are working hard to respond to enquiries as soon as possible.
Are Dawsons stores still open?
No at this time. We have made the decision to close our stores until further notice. Our main priority is to maintain the safety and security of our staff and customers. Our online store is still open and receiving orders. If you have any queries please contact our customer service team or contact us through our social media accounts.
When our stores reopen rest assured we will ensure all staff maintain a high standard of cleanliness throughout the day. This means washing hands thoroughly, as well as disinfecting demo equipment, phones, and surfaces regularly. We will ask customers to take similar precautions and offering hand sanitizer and handwashing facilities in store.
If anything changes with regards to Dawsons Music retail stores reopening, we will clearly notify customers on this page, store pages online, on our website homepage, our Google business listings, and our social media accounts.
Can I still contact you?
Our customer services team is geared up to handle enquiries. Our staff are now working from home where possible, so please remain vigilant but expect some longer than expected waiting times. Where possible please email your queries stating any relevant details such as item details, order references, date of purchase and a description of your problem. You can also contact us through our social media accounts' direct-messaging services.
If you find any of this information useful please feel free to copy any of it as we feel a strong, coherent community message will ensure the best and safest outcome for all.
This is an unprecedented time for all of us, not only as workers but people, we at Dawsons would ask that all our customers and staff adhere to self-isolation where possible, stay safe and stay well. We wish the best for all our fellow music retail businesses and everyone across the industry at this most difficult time.
Admittedly, none of what is happening now is what any of us want. We’d rather be looking forward to festivals, parties, tours, and putting the ridiculousness of 2019 behind us. However, the reality is that we have got to push forward through a momentous time, but we want to do so responsibly and in support of our colleagues and partners - our friends and their families.
All of us here in the Dawsons’ family want you to know that we appreciate your support more than words could say. Thank you for your patience and understanding, your continued support, and we’ll do our best to help keep you playing in the weeks ahead!
