Electro Harmonix have been designing top quality pedals for many decades, and the Memory Boy is an outstanding analog delay pedal. Many guitarists will have an analog delay effects pedal in their rig, and the Memory Boy comes highly recommended.

The pedal features four main control dials at the top for Delay, Depth, Blend and Feedback. By turning the Delay dial you can control the delay time of the Memory Boy, and this ranges between 30mS to 550mS at a maximum level. The Depth control is for the rate of modulation in the delayed signal, and this can be turned right up, or if you need to switch it off then turn the Depth dial completely anti-clockwise. Blend allows you to control the wet / dry signals, so you can adjust the mix between direct or delayed signals at the output jack. If the Blend control is fully clockwise this will give a totally wet output, whereas fully anti-clockwise is totally dry, while anywhere in between will provide a mix of the two. To control the amount of signal from the delay output to its input you will need to adjust the Feedback dial. This interesting control can allow the sound to self-oscillate or alternately increase the amount of echoes you hear.

Below the main dials are a couple of toggle switches to further enhance your sound. There is a two-position Triangle / Square toggle switch to control the shape of the modulation waveforms, and to hear this in full the Depth knob will also need to be turned up. The other toggle switch has three positions; Chorus, Vibrato or Expression Pedal. This switch has two main functions, either to set a rate of modulation, or to choose what your optional, external expression pedal can control.

The Memory Boy has a true bypass footswitch to engage and disengage the pedal, and a handy LED status indicator to let you know when it is on. To power the Memory Boy pedal it is supplied with a 9V AC adapter, or you can choose to power it via a 9V battery.

The Electro Harmonix Memory Boy is priced to be affordable for the masses, and is one superb analog delay pedal.
