The Electro Harmonix Oceans 11 Reverb Guitar Effects Pedal is an intuitive unit that packs in a mighty range of tone shaping options at a ludicrously affordable price. Whether you're a bedroom enthusiast, an amateur weekend warrior or a touring professional, the Oceans 11 offers vast scope for sculpting your guitar tone with impeccable precision. From snappy surf rock to enveloping sonic soundscape, this is a fantastic tool for any self-respecting musician.
11 built-in reverb types
The Oceans 11 offers 11 built-in reverb types to choose from: Hall, Spring, Plate, Reverse, Echo, Trem, Mod, Dyna, Auto-Infinite, Shimmer, and Polyphonic. Each reverb type features subtle nuances that add a different flavour to your tone, whilst the control knobs change in accordance with the Reverb Type selected.
From the spaciousness of a performance Hall to the heavily stylised character of time-dependent types, the Oceans 11 affords the ability to inject breadth and depth into your performance. With vintage-inspired effects at your disposal, you can recreate classic rock 'n' roll licks with ease or push the sonic boundaries as spectacularly as you like.
Infinite reverb allows notes to ring out in unending glory. Depending on whether you employ the internal footswitch or employ an external footswitch via the Infinite jack input, you can allow your notes to ring out uninterrupted, or access a fresh reverb type to play over the top of a previously played chord or note.
The boffins at EHX don't just stop at one option for some reverb types. Thanks to the MODE button, you can cycle through three modes of operation for certain types, with the LED indicator displaying the current mode (green/red/orange). Echo offers three subdivisions of your tapped echo time, Trem cycles through a trio of LFO waveforms, Mod is equipped with three different modulations, Dyna has three dynamic algorithms with non-linear outputs (Swell/Gate/Duck), Poly cycles through two sets of control parameters, which enables you to customise your polyphonic reverb output for deep-level editing.
The internal footswitch allows you to operate a Tap Tempo function when using Echo. Alternatively, you can include an external footswitch for tap tempo functionality. Inside the pedal you'll find the Tails switch. When this is activated, your reverb will fade out even when the pedal is in bypass mode, with the decay time determined by the Time knob setting. If Infinite is activated and Time is set to maximum, then reverb will continue until either Time is turned down or you switch to a different mode. The range of possibilities available are truly astounding for such a little unit.
