If you're lusting for a Gibson ES-335, but can't swing the lofty price, the Epiphone Dot 335 Electric Guitar in natural finish is an attractive alternative. Like the original, the Epiphone Dot features a laminated maple body, a glued-in mahogany neck, and a dot-inlaid fretboard. The body plays like a dream thanks to its lightweight feel, and curves in all the right places. The neck on the Dot is a little girthier than the ultra-slim necks fitted to some 335's. It fills your hand nicely, and the low action makes it a delight to play

The Dot ES-335 Style's '57 Classic pick-ups have alnico magnets (just like the vintage units), which gives the guitar a smooth, luxurious output. . Played through a variety of amps, the Dot does a decent job of evoking the plump shimmer of a real 335. Higher gain settings yield some of the meaty rhythm colors and round, sweet lead tones associated with Larry Carlton and Robben Ford. The Dot features oversized volume pots that preserve the highs as you roll down the volume. The tone controls offer smooth, predictable treble rolloff.

The stop tailpiece and bonnet knobs are authentic touches, as are the "Gibson" engraved truss rod cover and the orange sticker visible through the upper f-hole. The only differences are the headstock shape, the "E" logo on the pickguard, and the bridge (which is wider than a Gibson Tune-o-matic). The Dot archtop is well made. Its medium-sized frets are lightly polished and well shaped, the neck joint is clean, the hardware robust, and the finish is flawless.

Posted on 25/11/2017 by Sikboy A Brilliant instrument for the money, setting it up was without any problems, internation was a dream to set up, only niggle if pushed is the finish, but investing in the original Gibson the quality is very close considering it's a fraction of the price.
Posted on 21/09/2017 by EpiPlayer Bought the Epiphone Dot 335 in Natural about 6 months ago and have played it nearly every day since. Sounds great whether plugged in or not and is really versatile allowing me to switch between many different styles with ease . Would recommend to anyone in the market for a fantastic value, great souding semi-hollow guitar.
Posted on 13/05/2014 by Nick Just purchased an Epiphone 335 Dot from Huddersfield Dawsons. The guitar was beautifully set up and plays superbly. Very well put together, and at the price it's a steal! Makes the Gibson equivalent look VERY expensive.
Posted on 15/01/2013 by percy Bought one in the sale. Fantastic finish, very well set up, sounds well. Just fantastic value for money. Is it worth full price? - Yes!
