The Epiphone eClub 2014 Masterbilt AJ-500RCE continues the foundations laid by the original 1931 model, which quickly became the favourite of musicians worldwide, across multiple genres. The most popular body shape in the world of acoustic guitar playing, the Epiphone eClub 2014 Masterbilt AJ 500RCE employees dreadnought dimensions, for their powerful midrange and projection.

Making up the Epiphone eClub 2014 Masterbilt AJ500RCE is a solid Sitka spruce top, noted for improving with age and as it is played in, which in this case benefits from hand-scalloped Sitka Spruce braces and Mahogany kerfing. A vintage favourite, solid mahogany is used in the construction of the guitar’s back and sides.

Opening up access to the guitar’s upper frets is a modern cutaway. Finishing touches to the Epiphone AJ-500RCE include: a Natural satin finish, 5-ply binding, and a tortoise style pickguard.

A dovetail joint and hide glue connect a solid mahogany neck to the body of the Epiphone Masterbilt AJ500RCE. This neck utilises a 1-piece heel and is hand-shaped to the SlimTaper D profile. Giving you a comfortable playing surface to match the high playability of the neck is a rosewood fingerboard with 20 medium jumbo frets and pearloid dot inlays. One of end of the neck sports a rosewood bridge with a classic 1.69” bone nut, while the headstock benefits from a set of Grover Sta-Tite machine heads, with an 18:1 tuning ratio.

Giving you a plugged-in tone to match the guitar’s natural voice is a NanoFlex pickup. This does its job so well because it is positioned under the saddle of the Epiphone Masterbilt AJ-500RCE, and therefore picks up both the guitar’s string vibrations and soundboard movement.

To remain unobtrusive, the controls of the preamp have been hidden away in the Epiphone AJ-500RCE Masterbilt’s soundhole. This unit gives you access to tone-sculpting options, alongside volume control, these are: treble and bass rotary controls and a phase switch.

Customer Reviews
Twangs at the upper octave. Treble is not very resonant.
Posted on 19/09/2017 by dr.marv I have had this guitar for less than a year and already the pick-up does not work. Is there a battery inside or how easily can it be fixed?
