The Epiphone EJ200CE Electro-Acoustic Guitar is Epiphone’s version of a Gibson classic, the guitar you’ve seen in the hands of everyone from Elvis to Emmylou. The EJ200CE features a super jumbo maple body with select spruce top, moustache bridge, gold hardware, and royal crown inlays over a smooth rosewood fingerboard. Beautiful to behold, it has a huge sound that is easily amplified with the extremely versatile Shadow NanoFlex pickup.

Built from tradition, the Epiphone EJ-200CE is carefully crafted with a solid spruce top, on a big, crisp-sounding super jumbo maple body, offering beautiful tonal integrity and impressive dynamic range. Maple provides a very bright tonal variety with plenty of bite and sustain to stand up to any type of musical genres.

Using a maple neck, the EJ200 offers a smooth, comfortable playing experience, while still being a very strong and durable wood choice. A rosewood fingerboard compliments the neck perfectly, providing sleek transitions from chords and notes, all the way down the elegant maple neck. Also featuring unique crown inlays, the fingerboard adds a touch more sophistication to this beautiful instrument.

Electronics & Hardware

Complete with revolutionary Shadow NanoFlex and Shadow NanoMag pickups, the Epiphone EJ200CE provides precise tonal fidelity and superior vibration transfer, giving the guitar an unrivalled electric sound and tone. Capturing a wider, more balanced frequency range, and stunning harmonics, it’s clear to see why Epiphone have chosen to use Shadow Innovation.

Controlling the electronics is the eSonic2 preamp system, allowing you to carefully adjust the tone and volume of the two Shadow pickups. It also features a phase switch, (or ‘anti-feedback’ switch), EQ knobs and a handy built-in tuner, giving you more control and versatility than ever before.

Other features on the EJ200CE include a rosewood ‘moustache’ bridge, providing great string tension and sustain, a famous flower motif pickguard adding to the authentic design, and six dependable gold-plated Grover tuners in a 3-a-side formation, providing fantastic precision when tuning up.

Posted on 12/08/2018 by Larry C. USA I own a Taylor 214ce, a Martin Road Dreadnaught, a beater, and now this magnificent beauty. I wasn't really looking for another acoustic but kinda stumbled onto this one after watching video the late Greg Lake (Emerson, Lake, & Palmer) and am I glad. I've had so much fun with it I can hardly believe it. Suffice it to say, all of the accolades in the other reviews are accurate. And plugged into an acoustic amp, it's fantastic. You just have to try one out.
Posted on 28/07/2017 by stewboss I bought mine second hand, hardly used so basically as it came out of the box. I had a choice of three to appraise and this easily became after a few chops and changes between guitars the best sounding acoustic and amplified, not fully up to speed with the electric controls and what nuances can be achieved but the pure acoustic sound is well worth the price I paid - not far off the new price. I know the action can be tweaked but out of the box set up is more than fine . I will tweak as time goes on but I am so impressed with the one I have and loving every minute with it. As is the case when looking for a step up in guitars it can be a daunting mine field of angst unless you have played the one you want previously and know exactly what you are getting plus the contradictory views but with this model (dont ever be brand ruled) you get a guitar with a sound and feel that should be in a far higher price bracket truth be told . If you are stepping up in budget, this one is a bargain buy and saves you years of finding that sound your ears want to hear. and that little bit of your soul that wants to release in to the world or in limited company - as you can tell I am loving this guitar.and so happy with it.
Posted on 08/07/2017 by Ray Had my eye on this for some time. Been playing guitar for years (Too many to remember) but arthritis is
making it a lot more difficult. Hoping this guitar would work miracles, I was sorely disappointed. Matt was
great and must have given me at least 8 guitars to try, but all with the same result. In the end I was so
delighted with the sound and the looks i walked out of the store, a proud owner of the Epiphone. After
3 weeks I am delighted to say I'm finding it a lot easier. This is probably due to the fact that I'm so impressed with it I can't stop playing it. Matt advised probably replacing the strings with 10's. I decided
to persevere with the current setup and when i do eventually change I'll probably find it easier still.
Anyway I am now the proud owner of a guitar that stands up to Martin and many other big names thanks
to Matt. When I get a big lottery win I'll be back to Dawsons in Chester for the Gibson counterpart.
Posted on 17/03/2017 by Rob Ordered on line from Dawsons (inc 12mnths 0% finance), website very straight forward and applying for finance a doddle. Guitar arrived next day! Came out of the box and looked superb - how Ephiphone mange to reach such high standards for such a low price is a mystery. Changed the 12 gauge strings to a set of Martin 11s and adjusted the truss rod whilst I was at it - it was very slack - so now have action at 1/8th inch so its very easy to play. Sounds fantastic both acousticly and via an amp. Built in tuner is very good. Overall an exceptional guitar ( but I think one should wear a white suit when playing it!) . As easy to play as my Gibson Les Paul but looks even nicer. 10/10 + gold star. And well done to Dawsons for having such an easy website and blindingly fast delivery.
Posted on 10/02/2015 by Jess Incredible guitar. I am a novice guitarist, however the cheaper guitars I have purchased have made me sound worse! This guitar is top quality, nothing has been spared in production and it shows. It looks incredible, the shape is fantastic, although I was a little worried about it being 'Super Jumbo'. I can comfortably play this guitar and the size hasn't been an issue. The sound it produces is immense. Such a great buy. Dawsons were fantastic and the experience overall would convince me to buy again.
Posted on 28/01/2015 by James My local music store has the Gibson J-200 which I fell in love with upon seeing it, and loved playing. Without nearly 3 grand in my back pocket, I researched this Epiphone copy, other sites reviews and Youtube demos. I was very impressed so bought it. I've played both the Gibson and Epiphone side by side and can hardly tell the difference. To the highly trained ear there will be, and on a huge PA system the quality will shine through, but other than that this is a seriously quality guitar at an absolute bargain that will turn heads when you take it out of its case.
Posted on 31/12/2014 by Andyq Bought this guitar on the strength of reviews and I have to say apart from it being an absolute bargain I love it. I just play for fun can hardly put a tune together but I just love the tones of this guitar they just ring out long after you have played the note. The feel and the finish is fantastic as an amateur I would highly recommend this guitar. I've yet to try the pick up as it came with no battery but there's plenty going on with it. Summing up for the £299 I paid for it it's an absolute steal an excellent guitar for the money. Go out and try one..
Posted on 09/04/2014 by Danny An excellent acoustic guitar, and a really good piece of equipment, at a great price, what more can I say? The Epiphone 200ce says it all.

Posted on 01/04/2014 by Simon Went into Dawsons in Chester leaning more towards a Hummingbird, however this baby just seduced me straight from the rack on looks alone initially, (I feel it's definitely got the edge on black and tobacco finishes). Lovely finish and build quality for the money. Warm sound with fantastic sustain as it resonates throughout its ample body. Definitely a guitar to own and cherish - particularly if you're something of a jumbo prefer-er. If you're not, try one anyway, you'll be converted! Top marks to Dawsons too and especially Carl who was welcoming and patient as I noodled not once but twice and even three times with different guitars before I made up my mind.
Posted on 26/12/2013 by bubles Got myself one 17 years ago. We have been all over the UK & Europe and it as never let me down. From the beaches of the south of France and Spain up to the north of Sweden and Norway, no problems I just kept it tuned, kept it clean and used it well. Every one should have one at some time in their lives.
Posted on 28/12/2012 by pip I've bought one today and I love it, being of small build I've shied away from jumbo guitars in the past but this guitar feels quite nice and plays as well as it looks.
Posted on 16/08/2012 by Daniel Outstanding guitar! I had my eye on this for sometime but nowhere local could get me one for months. Contacted Dawsons who got me one out in a matter of days!
I would recommend this to anyone, it has a fantastic sound, an immaculate appearance and really stands out from other guitars out there in a similar price bracket - I wouldn’t be without my EJ200 CE now!
