The Epiphone Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar combines classic looks with modern appointments to create an awesome model that is perfect in the studio and excels on the stage. If it is a solid performance partner at an affordable price that you're looking for, then this is the guitar for you.

Solid mahogany body with impressive construction

The body is shaped to the instantly recognisable single-cutaway profile that we've all come to know and love. Following tradition, the body is built using a partnership comprised of mahogany with a plain maple veneer top, a combination that establishes a rich tonal energy with a crisp articulation across the frequency range. The elegant paintwork is complemented by single-ply cream binding to enhance the visual aesthetic beautifully.

Durable mahogany neck

Joined to the body and reinforced using glue is a stable mahogany neck, which is shaped to the comfortable 1960's SlimTaper D-profile. The generous 24.75-inch scale length pairs well with the 14-degree headstock angle to promote exceptional intonation and sustain. Paired with the neck is a luxurious pau ferro fingerboard, which is home to 22 medium-jumbo frets that are decorated with pearloid trapezoid position inlays to guide your way.

Versatile Epiphone Alnico Classic humbuckers

The Epiphone Les Paul Standard electric guitar is equipped with an Epiphone Alnico Classic humbucker in the neck and an Alnico Classic Plus humbucker in the bridge. Powered by Alnico V magnet, which deliver a roaring output with sublime mids and highs. Each pickup features independent volume and tone control with vintage-styled amber "Top Hats" as well as Epiphone's all-metal 3-way pickup selector switch. Thanks to the use of vacuum waxing in the humbuckers construction process you can expect immaculate tonal purity and the smoothest attenuation possible. From subtle to raucous tones, you can easily find the perfect tone for any musical style that you're tackling.

Gig-ready hardware

The Epiphone Les Paul Standard Electric Guitar is equipped with a LockTone Tune-o-matic bridge and LockTone stopbar tailpiece, which establish a seamless connection between strings and body for optimised intonation and sustain. The headstock is home to Grover tuning machines with 18:1 gear ratio for impeccable retention during performances.

Posted on 25/01/2016 by For not alot of money I got alot of guitar with this Les Paul, with 3 pickups and incredible sustain making it perfectly adequate for my taste. However I do still find that this type of guitar is better for rhythm and not lead guitar as the default strings feel slightly more difficult to bend than those on a strat for example. The weight can also become quite annoying but the solid mahogany body is for better tone so I cannot really complain. Also on this certain guitar the pickup switch fell off rather quickly as did one of the strap holders, both of which were fixed easily so I didn't feel too let down. All in all its a great looking and great sounding guitar, just make sure you have good finger and shoulder strength to get you through those gigs. :-)
