The Epiphone New Century Zenith Masterbilt Classic Archtop Electro Acoustic Guitar calls on the style of the 1930's model made famous during the "Big Band" era. Renowned for their lush warmth, fantastic depth of tone and enviable punchiness, the '30's archtops led the way for others to follow. Epiphone have treated their New Century models to the same care and attention as those earlier models, but also included some worthy modern appointments to meet the demands of today's performers.
Sophisticated medium-sized archtop
The New Century Zenith Masterbilt Classic has been shaped with a unique body profile that takes on a 16-inch lower bout, an 11.6-inch upper bout, a 9.4-inch waist, and a length that pushes just over 20-inches. The benefit of this body shape is that the guitar is able to generate a focused punch with an impressive mid-range energy. To emphasis the sparkling characteristics of the body, laminated flame maple is on hand to generate a warm yet highly articulate timbre - perfect for solo performers, such as singer/songwriters, as well as ensemble players.
Epiphone has added longitudinal bracing to support the solid spruce top, and to ensure that over time - and the more that the guitar is performed with -, the timbre will only get better and better. Each model has been treated to a vintage sheen finish to preserve the integrity of the wood for as long as possible.
Solid neck and fingerboard partnership
Fitted to the body is a sturdy and responsive neck, which is shaped to a comfortable profile to produce a heavenly playing feel. Married to the neck is a rosewood fingerboard, which is home to 20 frets that are adorned with Mother-of-Pearl inlays to guide your way in style. At the top of the neck you'll find the headstock, which bears the "Epiphone Zenith Masterbilt" inlay. This sits between the 1930's era replica tuners that have been upgraded to a reassuringly steadfast 18:1 ratio, which uphold tuning integrity with precision.
eSonic HD preamp system and NanoFlex HD pickups
To reproduce the unique acoustic tones of the Masterbilt Zenith models faithfully, Epiphone has equipped each guitar with the fantastic partnership of the eSonic HD preamp system with a low-impedance NanoFlex HD pickup. This combo works tirelessly to translate the richness and depth of tone as accurately as possible. The controls are safely tucked away in the f-hole of the guitar, whilst the jack output resides just below the tailpiece.
If a harmonious blend of old and new is what you crave, then the Epiphone New Century Zenith Masterbilt Classic Archtop electro acoustic guitar is the perfect choice.
