The Epiphone Pro-1 acoustic guitar comes with some fantastic features, and every aspect of the guitar has been carefully designed to cater to the needs of beginners. Epiphone appreciates that making the decision to learn guitar is an investment, but getting started need not cost the earth. Thanks to their expertise gained through over 140 years guitar building experience, the team at Epiphone have designed an impeccable model that enables both complete beginners and experienced players to get their hands on a fantastic model for less than £100.

The Epiphone Pro-1 acoustic guitar features a reduced-depth body, designed to be much easier for new players to hold, and therefore more comfortable to play. The body is crafted from select mahogany, which is highly regarded due to its ability to produce rich, powerful tones with ease. The top is built from bright sounding select spruce top, which has been reinforced using specially designed custom PRO-prietary bracing to make it tough, whilst allowing it to resonate freely. This allows the top to project the tones produced in the body with ease.

The mahogany neck is shaped to an EZ-Profile "C" shape, which is immensely comfortable to play along. The scale length - which is the distance from the saddle to the nut - is slightly shorter than on most acoustic guitars. This means that the 20 JumboPRO frets are closer together, and the strings have a looser feel, helping to keep fatigue at bay when practising. The neck is paired with a rosewood fingerboard and like the strings, comes with Epiphone’s own PRO-Ease solution. This remarkable coating provides sleek and smooth action with a reduction in unwanted string "buzz".

Professional Level Quality

The Epiphone Pro-1 acoustic guitar has been fitted with strong 18:1 gear ratio deluxe tuners, which work tirelessly to uphold string tuning with absolute precision. The rosewood bridge creates a seamless connection between the strings and body, maintaining string tension and intonation accurately. Chrome hardware has been employed throughout on the Epiphone Pro-1 due to its superb resilience. The body has been finished in a rich vintage sunburst.

Finally, to really get your teeth into playing, you will receive a beginner’s guide to Guitar booklet by Craig Anderton, and access to eMedia online guitar lessons!

The Epiphone Pro-1 acoustic guitar is a great package for beginners and intermediate players who desire a comfortable, reliable guitar that produces sublime tones. If you’re looking to get your musical career off to the brightest start, then this model will surely help to get you on the road to being an accomplished guitarist.

Posted on 03/01/2018 by Really happy with my pro1, I just wish I'd had one of these the first time I tried to learn acoustic - comfortable to hold and play and sounds great. It even looks the part. Don't waste your money on super cheap beginner guitars, this is definitely worth the little bit extra.
Posted on 04/06/2015 by As a 56 year old beginner with small stubby stiff fingers, I had almost gave up before I could get started (as many do) I was really struggling with every guitar I tried, After talking to the very good and helpful staff at Dawsons, they suggested trying the Pro1 OMD's what a difference, feels good to hold and straight away I could tell this was going to be much better, fingering is much easier and it has great sound (to my ear) highly recommended to any beginner
