The Epiphone SG Muse Electric Guitar is part of an all-new range from Epiphone featuring a classic SG Mahogany body with Ceramic Plus humbuckers with coil-splitting and phase switch. In a selection of beautiful new metallic finishes these high output tone machines look and sound incredible, sure to turn heads whether you're on stage, in the studio or in the rehearsal space.
New Look, Classic Sound
The new SG Muse features the historic SG profile with a Mahogany body that’s been a Gibson Brands classic since 1961. The Mahogany neck is hand-set and glued into the body and features a Custom “C” profile with an Indian Laurel fingerboard with pearloid trapezoid inlays, a 24.75” scale, medium jumbo frets, and a narrow 1.61” Graphtech nut.
Ceramic Plus Humbuckers
The SG Muse is powered by Epiphone’s new Ceramic Plus humbuckers, the first SG Collection from Epiphone to feature Ceramic magnet humbuckers. Like Epiphone's critically acclaimed ProBucker™ pickups, new Ceramic Plus humbuckers feature 18% Nickel silver unit bases, bobbins tooled to exact Gibson specifications, Elektrisola Magnet wire, but instead are powered by high output Ceramic 8 magnets. Ceramic Plus pickups provide high or “hot” output while still maintaining clarity and focus that's perfect for metal and hard driving rock. Ceramic Plus pickups also exhibit incredible sustain, drive, and harmonic content at high volume.
Modern hi-wattage amps are an especially good match with Ceramic Plus pickups, providing all the color and character of a classic humbucker but with the cutting drive that can keep up with intense volumes, fast and super articulate players, and more efficient modern amps. Controls include a standard 3-way toggle switch and standard volume and tone for each pickup with clear speed knobs with white numbers. Both pickups also offer a push-pull split-coil feature activated at each volume control to turn the humbucker into a single-coil pickup for even more tonal options as well as a in/out phase switch on the neck’s tone control. The volume pots also now feature a standard treble bleed circuit to maintain clarity at lower volume.
Rock Solid Epiphone Hardware
Like all great SGs, the Muse features rock solid hardware including Grover Rotomatic machine heads with an 18:1 tuning ratio and Epiphone’s standard LockToneTM bridge and Stopbar tailpiece. This ensures your guitar will stay in tune no matter how hard you play and makes for easy setup work with adjustable intonation and action feeling intuitive.
The Epiphone SG Muse Electric Guitar brings you a new look with a time-tested sound. Home to a whole host of premium hardware appointments this is an eminently playable guitar with bags of rock and roll attitude. With the well-known Epiphone build quality you can rest assured this guitar will stand the test of time.
