The Epiphone Sheraton II Pro resurrects the style and timbre of the classic model in impeccable fashion. However, this rendition of Epiphone’s most influential “thin-line” semi-hollowbody electric archtop, boasts a pair of ProBucker humbucker pickups that give your tone a serious kick, making this model perfect for those who demand versatility and power.
Delightful build quality
The body of the Epiphone Sheraton II Pro Electric Guitar is constructed from laminated maple with a mahogany centre block. The laminated maple is an inspired choice in the construction of the Sheraton, as it leaps at the chance to resonate freely to make the most of the semi-hollowbody shape. As the wood is laminated, it has fantastic resilience in handling changes in temperate and humidity – a must for travelling guitarists.
Glued into the body is a hard maple neck that has been carved to a 1960's SlimTaper C profile for exceptional comfort. Lying atop this is a rosewood fingerboard with "Block & Triangle" Inlays, using Mother of Pearl and Abalone, which complement the headstock’s historic "Tree of Life" inlay perfectly. The double-cutaway body profile makes it very easy to access the fingerboard in its entirety.
The original Sheraton combined the feedback-resistant qualities of the ES-335 with the cosmetics and inlays from Epiphone and relied on a split-trapeze Frequensator tailpiece, while this version, the Epiphone Sheraton II Pro, has improved sustain provided by the introduction of a Stopbar tailpiece, which works in tandem with a LockTone locking Tune-o-matic bridge. This is in addition to the precise, stable tuning offered to the guitar via a set of gold Grover 18:1 ratio machine heads.
Making the most of that gorgeous maple neck, and the body that provides so much tone and sustain, is a pair ProBucker humbuckers, meticulously designed to recreate the sublime vintage offerings of the classic model. The neck pickup is a ProBucker 2, which yields creamy tones that are perfect for sultry blues and jazzy sparkle. The bridge is home to a ProBucker 3 pickup, which runs a little hotter to deliver a shining output that is fantastic for solos and chunky rhythm. Both of the Epiphone Sheraton II Pro’s pickups have their own volume and tone control knobs, alongside an all-metal three-way pickup selector switch.
Delivering all the raw, hot tone that player’s demand of their vintage tones and mixing it with finesse and elegance. The Epiphone Sheraton II Pro Electric Guitar plays every bit as amazing as it looks, simply superb.
