The Epiphone Toby Deluxe IV bass guitar in walnut is crafted to the same sophisticated design as created by luthier Michael Tobias. The innovative "Toby" body profile is shaped to make it as comfortable as possible for bassists to work with, whilst delivering a vast tonal palette to draw from that springs forth with an impressive energy. Thanks to the collaboration between Epiphone and Tobias, many more bassists can get their hands on a Toby of their own.

The perfectly formed body has been crafted using solid radiata, which is noted for possessing a lightweight feel that belies its powerful timbre. Whether you prefer to wear your bass high or low, the slim Toby provides a comfortable playing position every time.

Fitted to the body is a delightful maple neck, which has been bolted on using recessed bolts and washers. Not only does this ensure a trim figure along the back that enables the Toby to sit snugly against your body, but also, should you need to make any adjustments, it couldn't be easier. The neck profile may be incredibly thin, but the strength of the neck is anything but delicate, guaranteeing a sturdy and responsive feel in the hand as you navigate at speed along its generous 34" scale length.

Paired with the neck is a fantastic rosewood fingerboard, which is home to 24-frets. Thanks to the deep double-cutaway body design, each and every inch of the fingerboard is within easy reach. The 12-inch radius makes it easy to execute smooth string bends.

In order to preserve the smooth response of the tonewood, the Toby Deluxe IV is fitted with Tobias TBR and TBT Dual Rail humbuckers in the neck and bridge positions respectively. The simplified control layout guarantees a high-degree of tonal control. At your fingertips are: Master Volume, Pickup Blend with centre Detent, Active Tonexpressor Bass Enhancement Control, and Master Tone pots. The Active Tonexpressor enables you to make fine adjustments easily, whist the Pickup Blend pot allows you to control whether you want both pickups involved, greater emphasis on the neck, or greater emphasis on the bridge. Depending on the style of music you’re playing, or the technique you’re executing, the Toby is equipped to help you find the perfect tone.

The maintain the discreet nature of the Toby's design across the entire Deluxe IV, a flush-mounted bridge has been fitted to create a low-profile. However, it is still fully adjustable should you wish to change string gauges, raise or lower the action, etc. At the top of the neck, a 1.68" nut keeps string tension firmly for absolute consistency. The premium die-cast tuning machines have an impressive 17:1 gear ratio, so once you tune up, you can rest assured that no matter hard you rock out, your tuning won't slip.

If you're looking for an exceptional bass guitar but are mindful of your budget, the Epiphone Toby Deluxe IV bass guitar should be at the top of every bassist's shopping list. Whether you're just starting out with the instrument, or you've seen and done it all as a seasoned pro, you will be blown away by this breathtaking model.
