The Epiphone Toby Deluxe V bass guitar builds on the success and popularity of 4-string model, by pushing the boundaries with this awesome 5-string model. Michael Tobias Design

The Epiphone Toby Deluxe V shares the same unique body profile, giving it the same delightfully contoured and comfortable shape. The body is made using radiata, a lightweight tonewood that produces fat, well-balanced tones. The body shape is perfect for those who demand comfort when they play. The small-scale shape and lightweight construction make it much easier to wield over extended periods of time.

Unique Asymmetrical Neck Design

Fitted to the body is a hard maple neck, which is shaped to the Tobias asymmetrical neck profile, creating a playing feel of unparalleled comfort. New players and seasoned pros will both feel the benefit of this superb neck design. The bolt-on construction is executed perfectly, with a recessed heel preventing any edges from jutting out so that the bass sits against your body snugly. The generous 34" scale length gives the strings plenty of space to resonate. Married to the neck is a sumptuous rosewood fingerboard, with a 12" radius that supports the execution of seamless string bends beautifully.

Versatility Meets Power

When you look at the electronics of the Epiphone Toby Deluxe V Bass, you start to see where this model really differs from the rest. Tobias-designed SCR split-humbuckers are fed through an active circuit called the Tonexpressor. This is essentially an enhancement control that allows you to fine tune your output to achieve your ideal tone. When combined with the detent and master EQ knobs, you can get many a tone out of this bass.

Gig-ready Hardware

The Toby Deluxe V is fitted with deluxe die-cast machine heads with an immense 17:1 gear ratio, which guarantees that once you set your tuning, your strings will remain held tight. The metal truss rod is fully adjustable, with an ABS truss rod cover.

The Epiphone Toby Deluxe V bass guitar isn't a typical Epiphone model, it is a unique 5-string that has boutique characteristics at an affordable price. If you're looking for a model that is great for the studio and the stage, then this is the bass for you.

Posted on 09/02/2019 by I have owned one of these bass and they play great but the one I had a high pitch hiss to it and did take it back but I have recently trying two more, both in black like the one I owned. The first of the two was set up slightly high but sounded okay and second one had low action that sounded fantastic even with Markbass amp set flat and treble up and added treble and the tone expressor it sounded great, a very natural sounding bass and feel and a strong prescence. This bass has the looks as well as the playability, I would say it is worth having one. I will hopefully be purchasing one of these in trans red soon! I recommend that you try one out, great sounding bass!
