Realistic feel

No longer do you have to wait for your housemates or neighbours to go on holiday to practice your skills, the Essentials Practice Pad means you have a realistic "drum head" feel but with none of the excess noise. The durable rubber head gives you just the right amount of bounce unlike some models that use a hard plastic.

With the Essentials Practice Pad at your side, you can be guaranteed the opportunity to advance your skills much quicker than those that have to wait for social use of an acoustic kit, an absolute must have for beginner and advanced drummers alike.

Posted on 18/09/2012 by My 8 year old son is starting percussion lessons at school. His tutor said that he needs to have a pair of drum sticks (Ok, I can manage that), a music book (that's simple enough) and the final item is a practice pad (a what?!).
So there's me thinking that my son would be learning at school on a real drum kit (Yes I know there's the noise factor but I thought the school must have a remote area, possibly at the end of the field, maybe)?! But no, apparently the children use a pad to drum on.
I was quite excited to find out what this would look like, the chap at the shop knew exactly what was twittering about when I forgot the name and ended up asking for a drum mat!
I have to say that it looked very simple with & is just that, a simple pad that you beat with sticks! My first thought was, "oh no, my son will thinks its boring, not a real drum etc, etc". In actual fact my son was over the moon, he picked up his new sticks and began 'drumming' away. He loves it, and can't wait to have his first lesson tomorrow!
This product is not too expensive, which is always a bonus and appears to be pretty robust too.
