Description

Details

Fender make it their sole mission to produce a vast range of musical instruments that always take it to the next level. Fender's expert luthiers are not the type to stop trying to make improvements to their products, and the American Professional Jazz Bass shows this. Drawing on years of expertise, this new edition Jazz Bass is designed with the modern player in mind, without losing the classic qualities of an original model.

Body

The Jazz Bass body is made using alder for a solid yet lightweight construction which is really comfortable to handle. The alder contributes to the quintessential Jazz Bass tone, with greater high-end tone that is ideal for various bass-playing styles. The American Professional Jazz Bass retains the historic double cutaway offset body shape, allowing full access to every register of the neck.

Fast Neck

The Jazz Bass is ideal for much faster playing methods thanks to its smooth maple neck which is shaped to the "Slim C" profile. Fender have employed a Posiflex graphite rod throughout the 34" inch scale length of the neck which adds more support and stability, enhancing comfort and performance while preventing warping.

The neck is topped with a 9.5 inch radius rosewood fingerboard which hosts 20 narrow-tall frets. The frets are adorned with white dot inlays to guide you throughout each note transition.

Jazz Bass Pickups

The American Professional model is fitted with a powerful pair of the new V-Mod single-coil Jazz Bass pickups, designed by pickup guru Michael Bump. The pickups are positioned in the bridge and neck, working together to enhance treble and provide a well-rounded, balanced range of tones. This pickup duo is not just suitable for jazz, but is expansive enough to reach into the likes of rock, funk and even disco.

Two volume controls allow you to tweak each pickup individually, and a Master Tone control rounds this off perfectly making for a very simple interface. The vintage-style black plastic Jazz Bass control knobs complement every finish of the instrument.

Hardware

Fender have worked tirelessly to keep improving their instruments, so it comes as no surprise that there are some new appointments featured in the American Professional hardware. The headstock is home to the redesigned Fender Lightweight Vintage-Style tuning keys, which use a tapered, fluted shaft. This provides the perfect break angle over the nut without loosening any of the strings.

The innovative new tuners work brilliantly with the 4-saddle HiMass bridge and bone nut to produce unparalleled sustain with total tuning accuracy.

The American Professional Jazz Bass comes with an Elite molded case to protect, store and transport your new pride and joy wherever you choose.
