Since its release in the 1950s, the Telecaster has remained a firm favourite among Fender fans all over the world. The Special Edition Noir Tele maintains classic features such as the shape and single-coil pickup pairing while offering a new Satin Black finish with matching headcap and pickguard.
The Telecaster has a familiar sloped shape with a single body cutaway which facilitates access to the higher registers of the neck. Fender have selected alder to construct the body due to its resilience and versatility as a tonewood. The body has a lightweight, comfortable playing feel making it feel easy to wield onstage. Fender have opted for a new Satin Black finish which stands out from the crowd.
A slick maple neck is firmly joined to the body, offering effortless hand movement as you play. The neck is topped with a pao ferro fingerboard which offers 21 medium jumbo frets decorated with white dot inlays to guide you. The fingerboard has a comfortable 9.5 inch radius for an enhanced playing feel.
The Special Edition Noir Tele is powered by expert electronics consisting of a Standard Single-Coil Tele pickup in the bridge position plus a Standard Single-Coil in the neck position. This pickup duo offers a high-output sound which sounds great when played clean or with added distortion. The controls are simple with just Master Volume and Master Tone plus a 3-position blade to alter between pickups.
A striking feature of the guitar is the matching Satin Black finish of the body and headcap, as well as the 3-ply black/red/black pickguard for an eye-catching visual aesthetic. The headstock is fitted with reliable standard cast / sealed tuning machines for easy, precise string retuning. A 6-saddle standard strings-through-body Tele bridge with block saddles improves sustain and intonation. Fender have certainly exceeded themselves in their new Special Run models such as the Noir Telecaster, providing all the traditional, high quality features at an affordable price.
