The Fender American Original 60s Stratocaster Guitar resurrects period-correct features from the mellower and matured 60s model. With updated appointments that included a mint green pickguard rather than that of white, and a rosewood fingerboard in favour of maple, the 60s Strat was a much smoother affair that charmed another generation of guitarists.

Legendary design

The 1960s Stratocaster retained the sleek contours and lines of the original, establishing to same comfortable figure-hugging playability. Offering unprecedented accessibility to the neck and body, the Strat is perfect for players of all abilities and skill levels, creating an instant feel of familiarity.

The American Original 60s body is built using alder, a Fender favourite due to its lightweight feel and well-rounded tonal palette. The punchy midrange energy is followed by a subtle low-end presence and softened highs. The result is a versatile tonality that can be manipulated freely using the intricate pickup configuration. The paintwork is protected by a coating of gloss nitrocellulose lacquer, which allows the wood to "breathe" naturally for increased resonance. As noted above, a 3-ply mint green pickguard prevents unwanted nicks and scrapes from blemishing the finish around the pickups.

Thick "C" neck

Joined to the body is a durable maple neck, which is shaped to a substantial yet manageable thick "C" profile to enhance playability. As with the body, the neck has also been treated to a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer coating to prevent unwanted stickiness from impeding your movement. Married to the neck is a round-laminated rosewood fingerboard, which is home to 21 vintage-tall frets. The 9.5-inch radius enhances the fret design to guarantee seamless string bends, allowing you to glide along to your heart's content.

Period-correct tones

The American Original '60s Stratocaster is equipped with a trio of Pure Vintage '65 gray-bottom single-coil Strat pickups in a classic bridge/middle/neck configuration. In keeping with the period-correct vibe, everything from the coil wire to the output wire, the alnico 5 magnets to the bobbins, has been dutifully chosen and applied. From sparkling open-chords to lightning fast legato, your performance will be translated with the utmost clarity.

Vintage-style hardware

The body is home to the pure vintage 6-saddle synchronised tremolo, which anchors each string securely and offers accurate vibrato control. The headstock is home to pure vintage single line "Fender Deluxe" tuning machines, which uphold tuning throughout the most energetic of performances.

Each model is supplied with a vintage-style hardshell case, so that your Fender American Original '60s Stratocaster can be kept safe and sound at home or on the move.
