The Fender American Original '60s Telecaster Guitar in 3-Colour Sunburst is a cool rendition of one of the most versatile guitars ever made. Moving forward from the '50s model, Fender adopted rosewood to create warmer notes than that of maple across the fingerboard. With improved picking switching alongside the same sublime feel, the Tele' remained true to its versatile roots, and continued to influence guitarists across genres.
Class Tele' cutaway
The Tele' shape set the standard for all other Fenders to follow. The uncompromising solidbody with single-cutaway profile produces a dense tonal arsenal to perform with whilst retaining a delightfully comfortable feel. The body is built using double-bound alder - in the style or the Telecaster Custom -, which establishes a lightweight feel with a powerful sonic output. The well-rounded output of the alder contributes to the versatility that the Telecaster is known for.
Finished in a classic 3-colour sunburst, the paintwork is protected by a resilient coating of gloss nitrocellulose lacquer. Protected to the body around the pickups and upper bout is afforded by a 3-ply eggshell pickguard.
'60s C-shape neck
Joined to the body is a maple neck, which is shaped to the mid-'60s "C"-shape to fill the hand without feeling cumbersome. The neck has also been treated to a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer coating to ensure a smooth playing feel along its entire length. Paired with the neck is a round-laminated fingerboard, which is home to 21 vintage-tall frets. The 9.5-inch radius enhances the fret design to afford seamless string bends, whilst the single-cutaway body shape allows you to reach the highest frets with ease.
The American Original '60s Tele is equipped with a pair of Pure Vintage '64 gray bottom single-coil Tele' pickups, which have been designed and built with unwavering attention to detail. From the enamel-coated coil wire to the cloth-covered output wires, fibre bobbins, and Alnico 3 magnets, the pickups are as close to the original article as you can get. The pole-pieces have even been staggered like the originals, to ensure balanced volume between the strings. Control comes in the form of a three-position pickup switch, as well as master volume and master tone pots. Everything that you could need to get stuck into some sweet Tele' tones is ready and waiting for you.
The Fender American Original '60s Telecaster is home to the vintage-style strings-through-body Tele' bridge with three brass saddles, which create a flush connection between strings and body for superb sustain. The headstock bears pure vintage single line "Fender Deluxe" tuning machines, which uphold tuning integrity dutifully so that you can bending each string to your heart's content.
Each model is supplied with a deluxe black hardshell case, so that your Fender American Original '60s Telecaster in 3-Colour Sunburst can be kept safe and sound at home or on the move.
