From vintage purists to the next generation of bassists it is set to become a favourite with all-comers. Each model is supplied with a deluxe gig bag to get you out and performing in no time.
Comfortable P-Bass body
The Fender American Performer Jazz Bass is shaped to the sleek offset waist body profile that we've all come to know and love. Originally designed to accommodate session players who played in jazz bands, the JB profile is perfect for performing with in either a seated or standing position. The deep double-cutaways remove any obstacles from the path of your fretting hand, giving you ready access to the highest reaches of the fingerboard. Crafted using alder, the Jazz Bass is delightfully light in weight yet produces an emphatic mid-range energy.
Sleek neck profile
Connected to the Jazz Bass body is a supple and supportive maple neck, which is shaped to the modern "C" profile that allows it to sit sweetly in the hand. The generous 34-inch scale is just right, not too long as to cause overstretching but long enough to ensure that the strings resonate to the their fullest. Married to the neck is a maple fingerboard, which promotes a warm response from every note. You'll find 20 medium jumbo frets to navigate and dot position inlays to guide your way. The curvy 9.5-inch fingerboard radius allows your fingers to shift seamlessly from fret to fret across all four strings. The synthetic bone nut ensures that all strings remain stable and secure in their position, whilst the standard truss rod enables ready adjustment when necessary.
The American Performer Jazz Bass is equipped with a pair of Fender's Yosemite single pickups fitted in the middle and bridge positions. Boasting Alnico 5 magnets for a meatier response, whilst Formvar-coated wiring optimises definition to round out the response beautifully. At your disposal there are independent volume controls for each pickup, as well as a master tone pot with Greasebucket tone circuitry. Greasebucket circuitry allows highs to be rolled off without sacrificing gain to bolster low-end growl. Whatever style of music you're taking on from rock to funk, country to punk, the Jazz Bass is up for anything and everything.
The body is home to a 4-saddle vintage-style bridge with steel saddles, which anchors each string securely to optimise intonation and sustain throughout the most demanding of performances. The headstock is home to Fender "F" light-weight vintage-paddle keys with tapered shafts for seamless adjustment and airtight consistency. If you're looking for a professional-level tour-ready model that won't break the bank, it doesn't get much better than the Fender American Performer Jazz Bass Guitar.
