1972 was a magical year for the humble Telecaster guitar, which was then available in several new designs and with more options than ever before. The Thinline Telecaster draws from classic design and new ideas to create a truly enjoyable playing experience, offering glimpses of the past, and all the modern features of today.

Semi-hollow Ash Body

The Fender '72 Telecaster Thinline features a semi-hollow ash body capable of producing a warm fundamental tone whilst delivering a comfortable weight and feel for the player. All the while it retains the classic Tele silhouette and the lovely, wide wood grain of the body is shown off to full effect with a Natural polyester finish, and it also sports a single F hole. The body is partnered nicely with a large distinctively-shaped, 4-ply white pearloid pickguard.

U Shaped Neck

Joined to the body of the Fender Classic Series 72 Telecaster Thinline Guitar via a three-bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt, and equipped with a bullet truss rod, is a maple neck, which blends in perfectly with the body finish. This is carved to the lesser-seen, U Shape profile and finished with gloss urethane. The fingerboard, itself with the rarer attribute of being 7.25" (184.1 mm) in radius, is also crafted from maple and houses 21 vintage style frets and black dot position inlays.

Other authentically vintage appointments include a 6-saddle Vintage-Style Strat strings-through-body hardtail bridge and a set of sealed tuners stamped with the stylized capital “F” from the classic Fender script logo.

Customisable Tone

For a fully customisable and versatile tone, the Fender Classic Series 72 Telecaster Thinline comes complete with two Wide Range humbucking pickups. Screaming snappy leads and thick rhythms can be easily obtained and shaped to your liking using the tone and volume controls, which are capped with knurled flat-top knobs, and three-way pickup switch.

Deluxe Gig Bag Included

Although a reissue of a classic instrument, you would probably like your Fender Classic Series 72 Telecaster Thinline Electric Guitar to remain looking box fresh for as long as possible. This made easier by the inclusion of a deluxe gig bag, which provides padded safety for the new member of your guitar family, along with being an easier way to transport the instrument. Along with shoulder strap and carry handle transportation options, the gig bag also includes a pair of pockets; making it easier to carry all the extras.

- Ive tried them both... the reissue came out on top. Pickups are better than the originals in my guitarists opinion - he has a 70's original and he prefers my reissue .... enough said.
