When people think of the 60s many think of the phrase "swinging 60s" and all that comes with it; fashion, youth, freedom, but most of all, music. This was a time where we saw the birth of hippies, known for their flamboyant style and character, a time where we came to see and hear about "flower power". The Fender Japan Classic 69 Telecaster recalls this famous decade in a Special Run version in a Blue Flower finish, and there is only a limited number available.
The Classic 69 Tele has been designed by the outstanding workers at Fender in Japan and it retains that iconic Telecaster shape and style. The body is constructed from basswood, a solid tonewood that gives the guitar a lightweight feel making it easy to wield. The basswood delivers a well-balanced, full-bodied range of tones with superb dynamic ability.
Fender have employed one piece of maple for the neck and it is securely fitted to the body via a 4-bolt neck joint. The 25.5 inch scale length neck is shaped to a slim "C" profile offering even better playability. Topping the neck is a 21-fret maple fingerboard, a smooth playing surface for your fingertips. Black dot inlays decorate the fingerboard, acting as a handy guide for each fret transition.
The Fender Japan Classic 69 Tele has been fitted with dual Vintage-Style Single-Coil Tele pickups placed in the neck and bridge positions. This pair of single-coil pickups work wonderfully together to deliver the quintessential Telecaster tone as authentically as an orignal 1969 model.
The limited edition Classic 69 Tele has a simple control interface, featuring Master Volume and Master Tone controls for easy tweaking. A 3-way pickup switch blade allows you to alter between pickup combinations and shape your sound to suit your playing needs.
The Fender Classic 69 Tele has been fitted with a 3-saddle American vintage strings-through-body Tele bridge which is accompanied by chrome barrel saddles. The bridge works with the Gotoh cast/sealed tuners at the headstock to uphold tuning integrity and improve sustain for a great Tele sound.
A striking feature of this Special Run model is the Blue Flower body finish, bringing a psychadelic feel to the visual aesthetic of this remarkable Fender guitar.
