The Fender Limited Edition Adam Clayton Precision Bass in Purple Sparkle finish is the signature model of U2's long-time low-end master. Responsible for laying down the foundation of one of the biggest bands in the history of rock, Clayton relies on his Fender Precision Bass tour after tour. Having travelled many times round the world, it is safe to say that consistency is at the core of this superb bass. Thanks to the beautiful purple sparkle finish, it doesn't look to shabby either.

    Comfortable P-Bass body

The Fender Limited Edition Adam Clayton Precision Bass is shaped to the very comfortable P-Bass body. Built using lightweight alder, the ergonomically shaped contours are enhanced by the easy manoeuvrability afforded by the tonewood. Boasting a punchy mid-range energy, the P-Bass is a joyful all-rounder. The elegant yet fun purple sparkle finish is protected by a slender yet resilient gloss polyurethane coating.

    Custom Clayton neck

Joined to the Precision Bass body is a supple and supportive maple neck, which is shaped to Adam Clayton's custom "C" profile. Married to the neck is a maple fingerboard, which is shaped to a 9.5-inch radius for an effortless playing feel. With 20 frets to explore, what could be better than being guided by unique abalone block position inlays? The synthetic bone nut ensures that all strings remain stable and secure in their position, whilst the vintage-style truss rod enables ready adjustment when necessary.

    Custom Shop '60s pickup

The Limited-Edition Adam Clayton Precision Bass wouldn't be the same without the artist’s Custom Shop '60s split-single coil pickup. Though a standalone pickup, it produces a highly versatile and highly expressive output that suits the wide dynamic range of Clayton and U2's performances. With a catalogue that stretches from country through hard rock to pop, Clayton and his Custom Shop '60s pickup comfortably take everything in their stride.

    Gig-ready hardware

The body is home to a 4-saddle HiMass vintage-style bass bridge, which anchors each string securely for optimised intonation and sustain. The headstock is home to Fender/Hipshot vintage-style "Lollipop” tuning machines, which uphold tuning integrity with dutiful precision. Every model is supplied with a black hardshell case to keep your bass safe and sound, whether you're at home or on the move.

Whether or not you're an ardent fan of Clayton or U2, the Fender Limited Edition Adam Clayton Precision Bass in Purple Sparkle is sublime, and deserves its place in the limelight.
