The first and most iconic musical instrument of the 20th century was born in 1951 in Fullerton California. After years of crafting and shaping, Leo Fenders team had created a kind of perfection even they couldn't comprehend. Rock and Roll were still to come, shaped almost exclusively by the lightweight, rugged and most importantly glorious-sounding new electric guitar. With parts borrowed from semi-acoustics and even Hawaiian Steel guitars and inspiration from European Istrian guitars, the Telecaster redefined what was possible for a touring musician and songwriters alike.
Maple Neck and Body
The Fender MIJ 60s Telecaster sports a Maple body and neck. Maple as a tonewood is a dense but light material producing slightly bright tones with a quick response. Maple is very lightweight so the guitar isn't heavy. The hard maple neck provides rock-solid support to the fingerboard which is made from Rosewood a tight, snappy wood helping to shape that classic Tele tone. The neck is profiled in the "U" shape making it slightly chunkier than the "C" but with vintage frets it is a breeze to play. The 7.25" radius is one of the more curved fretboards maintaining ultimate playability.
The MIJ 60s Tele is fitted with a Bigsby tremolo system with 6 adjustable saddles. The Bigsby tremolo will help you add subtle vibrato to your playing, ideal for jazz and blues players. The vintage-style tuners will hold the strings in tune with stability and accuracy.
To maintain and recreate that searing Tele tone the MIJ 60s Tele is authentically fitted with Fender vintage-style single coils, re-voiced for genuine sixties tone. The guitar benefits from up to date electronics giving total control over your tone and sound.
The Fender MIJ 60s Telecaster with Bigsby is a genuine throwback with authentic features and superb attention to detail. Tucked away are the modern construction and electronic flourishes that have kept Fender at the very top of the guitar food chain. This guitar with its glorious Candy Blue finish is a guitar players dream and well worth every penny. Whether you are in the market for your first "real" guitar or you want to add a new dimension to your sound this is the perfect tone machine for you.
