The Fender MIJ Traditional '68 Stratocaster Left-Handed Guitar in Arctic White is a Japanese-built, limited-edition model where classic style meets modern performance to create a winning combination. The team at Fender Japan have gone to great lengths to craft a guitar that any guitarist would be proud of, and would make a welcome addition to any lefty’s collection. Each model comes with a gig bag, so that you can get your guitar from home to stage without any fuss.
Classic Strat body
The Fender MIJ Traditional '68 Strat is shaped to the iconic double-cutaway body profile that has made this the model of choice for so many guitarists over the decades. With a slim body depth that is combined with gently swept contours, and soft bevelled edges that allow the guitar to nestle sweetly in your arms, it is clear to see why so many favour the Strat's 'feel'.
The body is crafted using basswood, a tonewood that is noted for its lightweight feel, and balanced tone with a midrange emphasis. Basswood produces a healthy amount of sustain, so if you're looking for a Strat that plays well with others, but can hold its own and genre-hops willingly, then basswood has you covered. Finished in an understated Arctic White finish, a slender yet resilient coating of polyester prevents unwanted blemishes from affecting the paintwork. A 3-ply white pickguard complements that body beautifully, whilst affording additional protection to the top around the pickups and controls.
Fast playing design
Paired with the body is a supple and supportive maple neck, which is connected via a solid 4-bolt construction. The neck is shaped to an accommodating "U"-shape profile, whilst sits comfortably in the hand. A subtle coating of polyester prevents stickiness from impeding your movement during performances. Married to the neck is a 21-fret maple fingerboard, which is decorated with black dot position inlays to guide your way. The double-cutaway body profile allows your hand to reach the highest frets with ease.
Single-coil Strat pickups
The Fender MIJ Traditional '68 Strat is equipped with a trio of Vintage-Style Single-Coil Strat pickups, which translate the balanced timbre of the basswood perfectly for you to exploit its full potential. At your disposal is a five-way pickup selector switch, as well as a Master Volume control and Tone controls for both neck and middle pickups. From sweet country twang to gritty bluesy tones, tight and articulate funk to saturated rock, this Strat is incredibly versatile.
The Fender MIJ Traditional '68 Stratocaster LH is home to a vintage-style synchronised tremolo, which anchors each string securely to optimise intonation and sustain whilst affording seamless vibrato control. The headstock is equipped with chrome die-cast tuning machines, which uphold tuning integrity with dutiful precision throughout the most energetic of performances.
