Fender Precision basses have been the byword for quality in the music industry since its launch in 1951. The iconic image of Paul Simonon of The Clash sending his Fender Precision to an early grave cemented the bass in rock and roll history (not that we would recommend this). The Fender Precision has been at the forefront of musical innovation and rock and roll for generations.
Classic style for the modern vintage
The attention to detail on the Player P Bass is outstanding from split single-coil pickups to the Modern "C" profile neck, Fender has sought to bring back to life a golden era of smooth tone. Utilising Alder for the body keeps the bass relatively light while being hardy enough to provide that low smooth tone so familiar to P Bass players. The Maple neck is classically playable and Pau Ferro fingerboard will provide silky sustain when needed.
A basic mix of complex parts
Recreating some of the iconic features Leo Fender himself designed is one of many reasons to own this bass. The Fender Designed Alnico 5 Single-Coil pickup adds to the heritage of the instrument and provides a classic era timbre not found in other basses. The 4 saddle-style bridge with threaded saddles means you can adjust and customise to make the Player P Bass as playable as possible. The Open Gear style tuners provide rock-solid stunning stability and accuracy and cap a beautifully recreated bass.
70 Years of excellence
The Player P Bass is an immaculate machine, made for the most damaging hard rock to the smoothest of jazz bands. The versatility and reliability have reached across generations. There is nothing more striking than a Fender and this bass has everything. It has been a witness to some of the most iconic moments in musical history and will go on to be part of more.
