Classic ES-335 style
The ES-335 Dot is built to the same hollowbody design that has ensnared many a guitarist over the years. The large chambered body shape is built using 3-ply maple/poplar/maple, a combination that succeeds in generating imperious energy infused with warmth and a hefty midrange clout. Spruce bracing is applied throughout to uphold structural integrity whilst enabling the tonewoods to resonate unimpeded to produce a mighty output. The carefully appointed maple centreblock tempers the output tone to prevent unwanted feedback when performing via an amplifier at high volumes. A resilient coating of gloss nitrocellulose lacquer protects the vintage burst paintwork and allows each model to age gracefully. Single-ply cream binding provides a subtle contrast to the paintwork, whilst stylish engraved F-holes are on hand to evoke that classic vibe.
Sturdy neck design
Joined to the body is a single-piece maple neck, which is shaped to the rounded "C" profile with rolled binding to enforce a comfortable playing experience. The neck extends along a generous 24.75-inch scale length, which teases a warmer character from each note without sacrificing on clarity. Paired with the neck is a sumptuous rosewood fingerboard, which is home to 22 frets that are adorned with pearloid dot position inlays. Cream binding traces along the edge of the fingerboard to afford seamless transitions between frets. The 12-inch fingerboard radius allows you to execute your technique with ease, from laying down chops to enthusiastically bending strings to the high heavens.
MHS II Pickups
The Gibson ES-335 Dot is endowed with MHS II rhythm and lead pickups to conquer the well-revered PAF (Patent Applied For) humbucking tone. Both have characteristically unmatched coil windings and are driven by Alnico II magnets. The MHS II pickups achieve clarity in sound output while also offering a bit of extra power at the bridge position.
The body is equipped with an ABR-1 tune-o-matic bridge with plated brass saddles, which is paired with a die-cast zinc stopbar tailpiece to optimise intonation and sustain. The headstock is home to Grover Rotomatic tuning machines with kidney buttons, which maintain tuning integrity with steadfast dedication. No matter how hard you rock out, your strings will stay faithful throughout each and every performance.
