The Gibson ES-335 Dot Semi-Hollow Body Electric Guitar in Antique Faded Cherry continues the line of big body hollow/semi-hollow guitars. With a raft of premium features, lightweight feel and a large range of tonal capabilities, the ES-335 Dot might just be the best Gibson semi-hollow body yet.
Semi-Hollow Body Design
A maple centre block and spruce bracing gives the body of the ES-335 a lightweight feel and fights feedback at high volume whilst retaining all the tonal qualities of the classic hollow-body guitars. Composed of 3-ply Maple/Poplar/Maple to ensure the classic big body tone is present and accounted for, the ES-335 gives you access to a wide variety of styles whether you prefer country chicken-pickin', big blues bends or outside jazz licks.
'C' is for Comfort
The double cutaway design is joined to a Quarter-Sawn Mahogany neck to give you fantastic upper fret access and the rounded 'C' profile ensures that chords and scale runs come with ease. The Mahogany neck of the ES-335 has been paired with the body tonewood to ensure warmth of tone and works with the Rosewood fretboard to give you a tone that's versatile enough to deal with an assortment of styles. The fretboard gives you a solid platform with 22 frets marked by Pearloid Dots to ensure you'll never lose your way, even on the darkest of stages.
Memphis Historic Spec Pickups
The Gibson ES-335 comes with a pair of Memphis Historic Spec Pickups, specifically designed to replicate the sound of historic guitars from the 50s and 60s. Dig in with your pick and you'll find some great top-end bite that works great with gain, dial it down and you've got the classic smooth and soothing vintage response that embodies classic hollow body tone. The ES-335 also has the Memphis Tone Circuit Plus that allows you to maintain your treble bite even when you roll off the volume. Hand-wired with matched 550K potentiometers and orange drop capacitors the electronics of the ES-335 ensure a minimum of unwanted noise and maximum tone.
The Gibson ES-335 comes with an ABR-1 bridge and Plated Brass Saddles to ensure utmost intonation. Working in conjunction with the Die0-cast Zinc Stopbar and Grover 'Milk Bottle' Rotomatics you get rock solid tuning stability no matter how hard you play. The Nickel plating of the hardware complement the finish for striking visual aesthetic and contemporary reliability that will uphold its integrity show after show.
