Description

Details

The Gibson Les Paul Special Electric Guitar in TV yellow is based on the original model that was issued in 1955 to be a stepping stone between the Les Paul Junior and Les Paul Standard. Keeping the now-classic TV Yellow finish, selected by Gibson so as to look great on black and white TV, this guitar embodies all the characteristics of Gibson's Golden Era of innovation, updating components to modern specs without losing the vintage heritage.

Slab Mahogany Body

The one-piece slab mahogany body of the Les Paul Special is a classic ingredient, dense and weighty, giving this guitar a warm and well-balanced tone that is typical of mahogany tonewood. Although warm, mahogany also lends itself well to bite and grit, making this guitar perfect for a variety of styles so whether you're a soulful blues player or a head banging hard rocker this guitar does both, and more, equally well.

Vintage 50s Neck profile

Joined to the single cutaway body is a Vintage 50s profile, bound Mahogany neck. Working in conjunction with the body the neck allows bends to ring out, fast legato to come with ease and riffing aplenty. The Rosewood fretboard is smooth and comfortable with 22 frets to ensure you hit every note when playing. The Acrylic Dot inlays ensure you never lose your way on even the darkest of stages.

Premier P90 Pickups

The P90 is widely regarded as Gibson's greatest ever pickup design. Originally produced in the 1940s it is technically a single-coil pickup, however, there is less twang and more thickness, sitting somewhere between a traditional single coil and humbucker sound. Loaded with Alnico V magnets, audio taper potentiometers and orange drop capacitors these pickups give you strong mids, full bass and harmonically complex trebles. They can do mellow warmth just as well as brutal bite and have been played by guitarists from all genres, so whether you play jazz, blues, rockabilly, punk, or even hard rock and metal, the P90 has got you covered.

Hard-Wearing Hardware

Keeping with the design that made it a classic, the Les Paul Special has a Wraparound bridge so you can be assured of pinpoint intonation. Working in conjunction with the Vintage Deluxe tuning machines this combination ensures rock-solid tuning stability that will put up with hard picking and big string bends.

The Gibson Les Paul Special Electric Guitar in TV Yellow is a continuation of a line of guitars that helped make Gibson synonymous with rock and roll, helping shape generations of sound and genres of music.
